Re: Spider-Man 4 Scrapped: Franchise Reboot 2012

I just feel it's important for everyone to remember, this movie is not a Marvel Studios movie. It has nothing to do with Avengers and that universe. So, when it inevitably sucks donkey balls, remember it's Sony, not Marvel, that made it that way.

So far The Amazing Spider-Man is holding steady at 80% on rottentomatoes.com.

Really good interviews with director Webb and actors Garfield and Stone on Charlie Rose last night.

I'm remaining cautiously optimistic, but I have a feeling this could be the best super hero movie since TDK.

I love this production still, mostly because of the blatant 4 banks and ballast cables in frame

Only problem with this is that Marvel has been making shitty movies for years.

What? This is a Marvel Studios movie. The old franchise was Sony.

It is Marvel.

In the 2009 film Star Trek you can find R2D2 in one of the scenes. Will we be able to find the USS Enterprise in Star Wars Episode VII?

It's also Sony. Co-production.

I've never seen this before.

The first ever documented Spider-Man fan film, and the first (unofficial) live action appearance of Spider-Man from 1969! This was produced by Donald F. Glut and was his last amateur film (he had produced many other Marvel fan films before this) before moving on to write for classic cartoons like Transformers and Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends.

Glad you liked it. I'm checking it out on the 4th in IMAX 3-D. Did you see it in 3-D ? If so, how was the 3-D ? Cinemablend gave the 3-D some of the lowest scores I've seen on their site. Surprising, considering the film was shot that way and not converted.

The 3D was fine. Nothing spectacular but there are some fun parts in 3D.

Re: Spider-Man 4 Scrapped: Franchise Reboot 2012

I really really enjoyed this. It was better than any of the Marvel movies that ended up being a part of the Avengers universe IMO. I will say this though, the trailers I saw spoiled the movie way too much for me. It was an excellent film, but I had this bad taste in my mouth the whole time because I had already seen so much of it.

Besides that though, everything was very solid. Peter and Gwen's relationship was perfectly portrayed. It moved very quickly throughout, but I didn't find it to be bothersome. The first 2/3 of the movie was definitely stronger than the final act. I really enjoyed the 3D.

Re: Spider-Man 4 Scrapped: Franchise Reboot 2012

Thumbs up to " The Amazing Spider-Man. " The title of best Spidey film still belongs to Raimi's " Spider-Man 2 " but " Amazing " has the strongest acting. The film hits on the emotional level with great performances by Garfield, Stone, Sheen and Field. 4/5 stars for me.

Loved the movie. Thought it was better than any of the previous.

Andrew Garfield >>> Toby Maguire.

Re: Spider-Man 4 Scrapped: Franchise Reboot 2012

Saw it tonight - thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely look forward to the next one, provided they keep at it.

They hit the nail on the head with the sarcastic-jokester Spiderman, firing off one liners while fighting goons Something that Raimi and crew really butchered. Maguire's Spidey seemed like he belonged in Dashboard Confessional.

Action scenes were great. Some of the dialogue was a bit awkward (I know it was intentional to a degree, but some of it was just really oddly paced/written.) Overall really liked it though. On a side note, Martin Sheen was great as Uncle Ben.

Sooo great. I really liked it. Like most reviewers say, it probably suffers a bit from familiarity just because a very similar story was told 10 years ago, but they did a much better job than this one. IMO, really hit Peter Parker right on the head. Garfield did great. I'm definitely excited to see where they take this reboot.
