Re: *^*^* Alpine 2012 *^*^*

Question to my fellow Ants -- We had a friend bail out last minute for this weekend, which leaves us with (2) extra lawn tickets (1 for each night)

Does anybody think that somebody would buy those from us at the show in the lots? (Considering they are still available on Livenation, not sure if this is an option)

Any and all input would be greatly appreciated!

You'll definitely be able to scalp it in the lots no problem, I've bought my tickets in the lots for several shows there even though they were available online

Hi guys - I'm currently searching for Pavilion seats for N2 and was wondering if you might know anyone who is currently looking to sell for face + fees. Please shoot me a PM if you have any info. Thanks!

Re: *^*^* Alpine 2012 *^*^*

Does anyone know, can you take Bowers Road from the south all the way to County Road D?

One year it was blocked off but I thought it was for construction.

What's the word on grilling? Anyone at the Phish show?

I believe it's open, that's the route we're planning on taking to try and get into the blue/yellow lots. Grilling will NOT be allowed according to e-mails sent by the Alpine Valley staff, but who knows when we actually get there how strict they will be about it.

That charcol only? Or gas too?

The last two shows we ended up in green lot first as it opened up right about noonish. How early you getting into blue / yellow?

Due to getting off work late we decided on the premier lot for N1...never parked there before.

Re: *^*^* Alpine 2012 *^*^*

The ban is for all grills, it has been so incredibly hot and dry up there that they don't want to risk any chance of fires.

The lots usually aren't based as much off what time you get there but more of what direction you are coming from. If you come from the East you generally get put into the green lot and if you come from the West you will be put into blue/yellow. That's why were gonna try and swing up on Bowers Rd rather than taking 120N.

Hey all, I've got two pairs for N1 to sell (for/via a friend, cause he's on the road from Darien to Alpine). Decent seats, 201 xx seats 30/32 and 203 yy seats 37/39. He's just asking face, no fees or anything. So $150 a pair. Shoot me a message or PM on here if interested. Can meet Thursday around Brookfield or anywhere in the lots pre show Friday

I was just forwarded the FAQ from Alpine.....bummer.

Funny thing is, cigerattes pose a much higher fire risk than gas grills. Oh well...

That's the way I remember it from years past, but the last two shows N2 we were driving around in circles waiting for the lots to open. We pulled up to the main gate, no entrance and the cop told us green just opened so we headed down that way.
We didn't have to pay the $20 either.

Is the traffic generally bad, or pretty much the same as everywhere else? I'm just trying to make sure we get into the main lots and not settling for green lot like we always do.

And I will be smoking several of those haha. I completely agree though but it would be impossible to try and stop thousands of people from smoking, grilling is a little more manageable.

There are idiots everywhere. There's a great chance that some drunk high school skank knocks over your gas grill and it starts a blaze.

It kind of sucks, but we'll just have to live without grilling for one year.

Traffic on there usually non existent, though it is not 100% getting you into general pop blue/yellow lots. Sometimes they will put you in the left lane and make you go to Green, but it has never happened to me. Been using that road since 2007.

The traffic is pretty horrid in and out, no matter what you do. That said, avoid 43 at all costs.

Yea we've headed up 120N for the last 9 or 10 years and its always hit or miss. Sometimes it's backed up sometimes we fly right up there. I'm just looking for some alternate routes to improve our chances of ending up in the main lots rather than green. Looks like I'll be giving Bowers Rd a shot.

Keep in mind when I said traffic is non existent, I have always went into the venue between 1 and 2, no idea what it is like after that.

Are the sections around Alpine under construction like the rest of the state?

Anyone ever hear what happened with the proposal to turn the green lot into camping? I remember reading about it a few years ago, but never heard what the vote turned out to be.

I think they did it for one show last summer but will not have any camping this year.

That I'm not sure of. I haven't really been in that area of the state yet this summer.

Yea we'll probably be heading over there around 2. I don't mind sitting in a little traffic as long as I end up in the main lots. I figure with it being a Friday it might not be as busy since I'm sure a lot of people still have to work.

Ok, your posts make more sense now if you normally head in around 2. We are usually trying to get in around noon.

Except N1 this year....I'll be lucky if we are there by 3:30 whch is why I ponied up the $30 for premier.

I've never ended up in anything but yellow and I've always come in from the west. That probably has something to do with it. I'm coming from Waukesha this year, so I'll be trying to avoid green myself coming from somewhere new.

Please put your butts in an ash tray. The grass was incredibly dry at Phish and will be even worse this weekend.

They really should just turn green into camping for two-night stands.
