Go to LA, I think Lane Kiffin teaches a class on it.

I'm not sure that Tulsa is a better job than Mizzou. Seems like a step down to me.

All these years in the Big 8 / 12 & you still don't know how KU fans feel about Mizzou?

He just pussed out & quit before he got fired.

I didn't get a chance to say you're probably just trolling Mizzou. Busy night at work.

I wonder how much more money he was offered. This move downwards shocks me.

I won't be at all surprised if he actually took a pay cut. He was looking for any way out of Mizzou he could find. Things have been getting real bad lately and are going to get worse before they start getting better. Couldn't happen to a better program.

Here's the press conference, this guy is just such a clown. Good to know how his only focus isn't just teaching his players to dribble. Watching mizzou last year they didn't even do that too well at times

Also lol@ "beat Kansas at Kansas"...I didn't realize he was the coach back in 99!

Did anyone else see the Jahlil Okafor tug fest also known as the Jordan Brand Classic? I like how they went on and on about Okafor in the first half and that he was trying to be the only person besides Lebron to score 30 in the game after he had 15 at halftime... And then they're like oh yeah he's not even the leading scorer... The 32 year old going to Kansas is.

The announcers at those things always suck.. The amount of circle jerking around one player was even worse than usual... Especially when he wasn't even the leading scorer.. But this is going to lead to a pointless argument so I'm done.

Mudiay was the best player on the floor, definitely the best NBA prospect IMO.

No, I just didn't get what point you were trying to make. I didn't see it, but I'd say 29 points on 13 for 17 shooting is a pretty damn good game if it was some sort of knock on Okafor.

Mudiay is very inconsistent offensively, but yes, he could be great. Not too many 6'5" point guards around.

I think it'd be very hard to argue UCLA isn't if we're talking all time. And I'm really not sure how you can put Kansas ahead of Duke.

UCLA had a decade of absolute dominance but outside of that they have been good but not elite.

Kansas has more all-time wins and have been consistently good going back further than Duke. They also have James Naismith and guys like Dean Smith, Adolph Rupp, Larry Brown tied to the program. If it was the last 25 years, Duke would definitely be better but overall I give a slight edge to KU. I went back and forth with that one.

    UK
    UNC
    Duke
    KU
    UConn

Uconn doesnt have the history but they have more titles than Kansas. Hard the argue they haven't been in the very top of the discussion of "program of the 2000's", which to me is more important than UCLA winning a zillion titles with one guy and then one more 20 years later with a hot team. Recruits don't care about UCLA's history cause none of them think of UCLA as a power, so I'm coming from the angle that UCONN's last 15 years has set them up nicely to continue being successful in the future whereas UCLA is mired in mediocrity. We gave indiana blue blood status for winning 5 titles 30+ years ago so the more and more I think about if the more silly it seems to argue against Uconn being a top 5 program right now. Sustained success and history is great but when you compare things like championships Uconn matches up favorably to 99% of d-1 programs now.

I think UCLA is to basketball as Notre Dame is to football. No one college age gives a shit about the prestigious history of their great grand parents era.

UConn has been great the last 15 years but there is absolutely no way you can rank them over UCLA in terms of all-time programs. Not even a contest.

I agree, but you have to put them in the discussion. Can't argue five titles.

Sure I can. I did. They have had like maybe 4 top 5 finishes since 1978? They won a bunch of titles with one coach who had a stranglehold on recruiting for whatever reason (won't get into that) and then promptly became a mediocre program results-wise after he retired except for 1995 and 2008 and maybe another year or 2 in there.

In my lifetime Uconn has been a better program than UCLA and that's not even close. UCLA's decade and a half of dominance was unbelievable and you can't argue with 11 titles but for me their lack or continued success had affected their recruiting and their future, which is a point I made in my original post on the subject. Who's set up better for the future right now, Uconn or UCLA?

Absolutely to the bolded. But when the discussion is how the programs rank all-time, limiting your opinion to just your lifetime doesn't make sense. UCLA's run during the 60s and 70s is a hell of a lot more impressive than UConn's over the past 15 years. No way UConn > UCLA without at least another decade of UConn being a much better progam.

I was under the impression that we were talking all-time, not just our lifetime. In that case, Duke has been better than UK in my lifetime. They must be the better program.

In reality, UCLA is absolutely the better program historically than UConn. It may not be close.

Eh, it's my opinion. I'm cool with being alone on that. I'd definitely put UCLA at #6 but for my money Uconn is the better program. The writings on the wall that UCLA shows no signs of returning anywhere close to an elite program while Uconn continues to win and gain momentum. I'm looking at it like Uconn is better right now and the near future will further illustrate that.

Oh look, Kentucky fans thinking their program is the best of all time. I guess having elite players is not a requirement in their criteria.

I guess I fon't get how you can say that UConn is a better program when you knock UCLA for a decade of dominance when UConn has basically done the same thing, only they weren't anywhere near as dominant.

During my lifetime, the Heat have been better than the Celtics, does that make them a greater all-time NBA franchise?
