I can pretty comfortably say that Baby Blue is Big 3 good

Seriously, I couldn't imagine Dave writing anything this lush and gorgeous at this point for this album. I don't think most of the album is Big 3 good, but this particular track definitely knocks me off my legs.

i am also a fan of this song, big fan. not sure why so many here have decided to dump on it with you and me. maybe it's the abrupt change of pace from the way the rest of the album is flowing. i loved the april sessions version, stripped down, but am happy they added the orchestra filling it up more.

Yes I agree. It's a beautiful song. It's got a timeless quality about it imo and was one of the first tracks on the album that really got my attention.

It stuck out for me my first time through. I thought that might change but it hasn't. The song is just incredibly good. Might be my favorite DMB song since 2000, seriously.

Baby Blue is amazing. I am stunned to see that some people consider it the worst on the album and actually think Sister is better. I see myself considering this, Squirm, and LITHOG "Big 3 (+tLWS) good" after the album sinks in.

I take back what I said a few posts ago, this is pretty stunning. Baby Blue is light years better than sister, especially now having great lyrics. I think Baby Blue is a prefect Leroi tribute song.

I am also curious, what are your thoughts on Squirm? Been reading some of your review threads/thoughts and haven't seen much mention of it. I think this song is also Big 3 caliber, and even BTCS sounding, musically and lyrically.

Baby Blue is definitely a very well-written song. The riff is great, and the lyrics are great. It's not one of my top songs on the album, but it's a great song.

I think that saying it's the best song of the last 9 years is a little excessive, but hey, it's your opinion. Personally, I could find a nice list of songs from the last 9 years I'd rather listen to than BB, but that doesn't make it any less a good song.

Squirm = brilliantly executed song

The music & lyrics are top-notch. Couldn't have asked for more with this song.

It didn't rip off sister; it took a weak song and made it beautiful. And I couldn't disagree more on forced lyrically. This song is a beautiful tribute to Leroi and really shows the emotion of DMB losing their friend and band mate.
