Pearl Jam did this for No Code back in 1996. Maybe DMB copied Pearl Jam.
...but as the above poster basically said DMB did not invent viral marketing and neither did Pearl Jam... |

OAR did this for All Sides, which is a remarkably terrible CD. So it was Pearl Jam copying DMB copying OAR copying Mars Volta copying Pearl Jam.
