Carter has a frying pan next to his hi-hats

Did anyone else see it? What is it? Not sure if it's brand new, but I saw it at Deer Creek this weekend, and it wasn't there last year. I don't think I saw it at Hartford or Beacon this year, either. You can hear him playing with it during the YNK intro from Deer Creek (about 0:40 into Crumbo's tape). He's alternating between the frying pan and the open hats. Sounds like a low pitched ride bell sorta.

I'll try to find pics...if any drummers are heading to anymore shows this summer, keep an eye out for it. It's directly next to his hi hats...to the left of them (Carter left, not stage left). It is like 10", flat with a small taper around the edge of it, and a hole in the center (like a regular cymbal). He has it mounted with what looks like a frying pan handle

I couldn't get a good look at it to see what brand it might have been. They used it on the intro to Bayou as well.

Re: Carter has a frying pan next to his hi-hats

I've been wondering what this thing is. It's right above his 13" tom and is mounted off a cymbal stand by what the OP originally said, what looks to be a frying pan lid lol. I haven't seen anything like it either but I'll be sure to keep a look out for it at Little Rock!
