No Tailgating at Tinley Park????

Ok so i friend of mine has been to Tinley Park Ill for a dave show some time back and as far as she knows because its located in a town or city of some sort they don't allow tailgating because of noise restrictions which really effin sucks! Is there any place were DmB fans meet and hang out before the show??? cause im really bummed out right now, and im not talking bars or places like that.

tinley park fucking blooooows. i hate that god damn venue. asphalt parking lot, getting out is a nightmare sometimes. shit venue, small lawn, wierd setup there. used to go there for warped tour too haha. llaaaaame.

theres a TGI Fridays across the street, and a kick ass lil funland wit go karts, i pretty sure they serve beer there as well, theres a holiday in with a restaraunt/ bar attached to the hotel, theres also a sushi place and a couple restaraunts a couple blocks away, and in downtown tinley which is like 10 min away there are a boat load of bars, i live right here so ill look into exact locations, names, and details of places, off hand this was all i could think off, but feel free to ask any questions

This is the worst venue ever. I live in Chicago and I won't even go see them. The acoustics are TERRIBLE.

Is this no tailgating rule at Tinley for real? I seriously need to know, because my brother and two cousins and I were about to get tickets and drive in from Cleveland. But the cousins are 19 and tailgating is their only real option to drink beforehand...

Everyone I've talked to said the doors to the venue open when the gates to the lot open (or very soon after). No tailgating.

Yes, no tailgating allowed at this total shit venue. A couple of years ago, it was pouring rain and we were sitting in the car drinking a couple of beers..security guy in yellow jacket knocks on my window, kicks us out of the car. Even in the pouring friggin rain, you can't sit in your car. Seriously, dont go to this venue. I wish DMB would cross off the list and skip this most shitty of venues. I hate tinley.

my husband and i are also making the trip from cleveland. we decided to add it since the Scranton date was changed and we really wanted to see a show in Sept. i've never heard anything good about this place

I'm not positive but i believe Tinley went through a restructuring. I believe starting this summer you CAN tailgate there. ill see if i can find out definitively but i'm pretty sure you can and they remodeled the venue a little bit

Don't go! Even for a DMB show, you will not have a good time. The last few times I went to Tinley the band pretty much just plays, They go through the motions. I'd rather sit at home and listen to a taper pull of Alpine or something. Just stay at home, seriously.

I don't really care for the venue, but I'm not going to skip DMB just because of it. You won't get busted for tailgating, but after about 20 mins or so of sitting next to your vehicle, security will just walk by and tell you to start heading in.

Why not Toyota this year? That place was much closer from where i'm coming from (Lombard), they allow you to park very early, tailgate all you want, and security is almost non-existant. Now, only having (2) port-o-potty's per section of the parking lot is a problem, but i'll deal with it.

Would like to know if true about tailgating, but doubt it. I think the town plays into the decision around tailgating.

I've lived in Tinley since 1989 and I for one am a big fan of the "World" or First Midwest or whatever they call it now. It's a bigger version of Deercreek or Alpine...minus the steep slope that Alpine has. Sound wise...I've always heard everything and was even in lawn a couple years back for Counting Crows and Goo Goo Dolls and couldn't believe how crisp and clear it was. For those of you in the pavillion you definitely can't go wrong.

The World is like any other venue...they are going to bring you in one way from the main road/highway...so unless you know the back roads expect a delay. Yes...no tailgating sucks...but in my honest opinion this place blows Toyota park away...just my two cents...for those who are on the border of going.

I'm gonna go, just so I can see a DMB show with my college friends, but I don't want it to be a complete let down. Just gotta hope for a good setlist. After SPAC that's gonna be tough to do though, especially with just one night.
