Definitely. My dad and I are super close, and he is an amazing man...very laid back, sensible, fun, loves sports, acts younger than he is. I wouldn't mind my husband to have those same traits.

I agree with what the author of the article says in that a woman that looked a lot like my mother certainly would not be a turn on. But I think when most people ask this question, they mean similar personality-wise, not look-wise.

I would like to marry someone like my dad obviously not looks wise but personality wise.

He's very easy-going and laid back, he's funny, he never gets mad and makes a joke when my sisters and I are fighting to end it, and he's obsessed with sports and can rattle off sports statistics, and he would do anything for any of us.

Eh, I would like to marry someone who has some qualities (smart, hilarious, likes to drink/have a good time, cracks jokes about everything and everyone, has fun, tech-savvy, etc)...but I think those are generic qualities that I look for anyways. If I'm with a guy who has all qualities like my dad, I'd probably punch him in the suck hole. Actually, there is no probably, I WOULD punch him in the suck-hole.

My dad might be great in some areas, but in others, he's a total idiot.

I think they do, my sister certainly did. Me personally, I tend to stay away from the raging alcoholic, wife beating, loser types.
