My very first concert...The best experience of my life...

Hey my fellow DMB fans. I just had the BEST moment/experience of my life and felt like I needed to share it with people who will appreciate it.

For my 19th bday I got tickets to see DMB (Riverbend Cinci, OH 6/16/09)!!!!
Not a lot of my friends get into DMB, so I decided to take my dad with me. He is an ex-hippie and such a fun dude.I was so excited for the concert that I changed my outfit like 12 times and was so anxious and excited I couldn't stop thinking about what it would be like since it was going to be my first concert.
(I am a music nut and I can't believe that this was my first!!) So we get to the concert and we had lawn tickets. We were having a blast meeting all these new people who finally appreciated the music as much as I did.

And then...It started to rain....Not little droplets of rain, but a serious downpour. We didn't have umbrellas or anything. At first I was kinda of like shit...Usually I can be somewhat uptight but the rain made me seriously loosen up like never before. My hair was soaked and my makeup had smeared but that didn't matter. It made the concert so much fun and made me laugh. I ended up kicking off my shoes and dancing around. I had saw some friends earlier at the show and went to look for them during a break of songs. I don't know how I found them, but I did and we had a blast dancing around during Jimi Thing. I even noticed a cute guy beside them. Since I was in such a great mood I went up to him, introduced myself and asked if I could kiss him. We did and now every time I hear Jimi Thing I think of how carefree life should be.

I learned so much from that night. Who knew that a little rain could wash away all the walls and cares you have? I learned that you can't always plan things exactly and expect them to go according. Life is never like that. You have to just take what you get and learn to dance in the rain.

So glad you finally got to see the DMB and it was your first show, very cool! I dig the way that the rain let your guard down, I really do. I looked at the set list from that night and you got a PNP/Rapunzel opener. How perfect of an opener can you get when your moniker is Rapunzel. Perfect, I love the song and I love it as an opener.

The set also looks like it had quite a few new tunes, as the sets do with a new album out, but you got to see Granny as well, one of my all time favorites. Overall, it looks like a great time and I am so glad that the rain could wash away all the walls and cares you have, sorta like the lyrics to PNP.

This is a nice fraternity we have here and welcome my friend, to the show that never ends. Hope you stay for a long time. Talk to ya later and have a nice week.

Pretty easy to share a photo. Just click on "go advanced" right under the post box. Then go down toward the bottom and there is an "Manage Attachments" box, click it. This then pulls up your computer files and just point it to the photo you want to share. Then click upload and it uploads it. Then right a little message with it and you are in business.

Good luck and I look forward to seeing your photo or photo's.

Peace, Adam

Your dad must have loved that...

That's a great story! I'm glad you had a such a great first experience. Don't be afraid to ask around here the next time you go to the show. I've had some very close friends made from these boards.

Awesome! I have always wanted to be in the lawn when it rains. I was in the pavilion N2 Deer Creek. It started raining towards the end of the show. Glad you had a good time. Many more to come!

Re: My very first concert...The best experience of my life...

Oh shit....Guys I completely forgot to tell you all this.......

SO we were in the lawn. And it was great don't get me wrong, but this lady beside us had friends sitting under the pavillion and she was going in and out with their extra tickets. When she left for the encore she handed my dad and I her tickets. I flipped out and we got to go in. so we start walking and the security keep telling us to go on, slowly getting closer to the stage. The tickets were 5th ROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were right there and I was so pumped I didn't even recognize Halloween as the final song. I was too out of it to comprehend. What a way to end a show! AMAZING...

LMAO. For some reason, I read 6/19 and thus the statement above sounds real stupid. A Halloween closer on your first show and you end up 5th row, sweet! Doesn't get much better than that.

Yeah I also experienced my first Dmb concert at Vandy 4-25-09. I'm fifteen and I had a freaking blast, one of the best experiences of my life. The Last Stop tease was cruel haha. But it was an amazing show nonetheless. Definitly hitting multiple shows next year.
