Song of the day (best version discussion) today's song - one sweet world

Today's song is 'one sweet world'

Only one rule and that is one song per day.
IN HERE please only discuss your favorite version of 'one sweet world' and not what YOUR particular song of the day is for listening, this is different.

WHEN LISTING YOUR VOTE PLEASE BE DESCRIPTIVE (DATE, VENUE, RELEASE ETC.)

my favorite is the WH5V4 release from 4.20.02 Coral Centre Ottawa, ON, CAN, Roi is amazing on it, the intro is so soothing sounding...

so far we've done these songs, here's the consensus:
Minarets - versions from 95 era basically, 'Tomorrow never knows' intro, BOWA release from that year
Last stop - Live in chicago release,
Typical situation - no real consensus, maybe we'll come back to it.
Warehouse - Piedmont release and BOWA Live Disc release
Proudest Monkey - studio release was the most popular, with 6.7.96 in second, 3rd Rothbury 08.
Seek up - 7.30.01, honorable mentions to RR95 and Gorge realease '02.
Say Goodbye - BOWA release had the most votes, Live trax 3 in 2nd.
Bartender - 8.19.08 at the Staples Center, a lot of mention for Folsom field.
Two step - '08 and '09 versions DC/MSG/Alpine/Starlake. RR95 and Central park.
#41 - 4.20.02, ,Listener Supported, studio was popular too.
Shotgun - 6.10.06 seemed to be the favorite
Dancing Nancies - Central park, honorable mentions to RR95
Too Much - LT8 8.7.2004, honorable mentions to LT2 Golden gate (best outro in my opinion) also Central Park

Live Trax 5. The intro just sounds awesome. It's a classic.

Live Trax 5 for sure. Any version with the Instrumental Intro is a pass in my book, but the LT 5 version is just great all around the board.

Live Trax 5 for One Sweet World.

I missed the Typical Situation thread, but my vote would have been Live Trax 7.

1. LT5 (8.23.95 Meadow Brook Music Festival) - only official release with a full intro (until LT16 comes out).
2. Piedmont (9.8.07) - really good version, I love it as an opener.

i really love the one from Live Trax 2- Golden Gate Park- 9.12.04. This is in my hometown, and although I wasn't at the show, it is really special to me. It's a great recording that really uplifting and is awesome as a show opener. I know it doesn't have the intro on it that many people love, but this one still takes the cake for me.

I understand why some people are attached to the instrumental intro, and I like myself, but I really like how the LT2 version sort of eases into the music, was a perfect way to open up a beautiful Sunday afternoon in the park. And I'm sorry you couldn't be there dude. Was fucking amazing, still one of my favorite DMB experiences.

As an aside, I still find it kinda amusing that Dave's never really figured out exactly how to sing the "and here we will rest in peace" part. Each show he seems to put "peace" on a different note or octave. I think that part's perfect on Luther, but he tries to build it up in a full-band setting.

I'll second that thought. LT2 at GG Park.

I'll admit some bias having been fortunate enough to be there as well. The incredible weather, the crowd, a powerful setlist spiced with Santana - - wow. A great day on the green, and One Sweet World.

Re: Song of the day (best version discussion) today's song - one sweet world

Luther College holds a special place in my heart. It was the first time I'd heard the song, and it took another 7 years before I actually heard the song in person. That said, I'd have to give the vote to anything from '94. 2.5.94 and 7.28.94 are both really good old school versions of the song.
