Avatar (2009 James Cameron Film)

At long last, here's the teaser:

Hmm. It definitely "looks" good. It does get a bit cartoon-like at the end. But seeing this in IMAX 3D will probably be insane.

Re: Avatar (2009 James Cameron Film)

I was completely underwhelmed by this. The HD version looks a little better and my buddy and I actually have tickets to the 16-minute 3D version of the trailer, so maybe that will be more impressive.

Still, it looks like a star wars prequel.

Re: Avatar (2009 James Cameron Film)

On one hand, it wasn't very cool looking.

On the other, it was just a teaser.

But in the end, it is a James Cameron movie and I am there. He has not made on film that isn't worthwhile.

The cartoon was an awesome cartoon. It's the only "kids"cartoon i'd sit through and enjoy it at the same time.

This has nothing to do with The Last Airbender (although there's a movie coming out for that too.) I initially thought the same thing as you.

Re: Avatar (2009 James Cameron Film)

Looks pretty lame, IMO. Just doing pretty much everything in CGI is getting boring to me....it always looks like a clean, idealized world, and it seems to now just be something to dazzle viewers in order to make them forget about actual plot and acting.

There is going to be WAY too much hype for this film for people not to be underwhelmed.

Re: Avatar (2009 James Cameron Film)

i thought it looked pretty sweet.

although i know nothing about the backstory or whatever. from what i researched briefly....it's based on a Nickelodeon show, right? And also, next year M. Night Shamalyn is also doing a movie in the same universe....but there not connected at all.....right?

I hope youre not a reporter.

No, its not based on the Nickelodean show (That's Avatar: The Last Airbender) but M. Night's film is.

I wonder if Fox is going to have to combat this misconception, because its been pretty prevelant everywhere I looked

Nice little article if you haven't read it. Big claims about the 3D.
