Song of the day (best version discussion) today's song - favorite cover
WHEN LISTING YOUR VOTE PLEASE DO YOUR BEST TO BE DESCRIPTIVE (DATE, VENUE, RELEASE ETC.) try not to just say live trax 3, say venue and date please. I was on vacation last week, sorry for the threads absence... Today we'll change it up just a tad, list your favorite version of your favorite cover, we'll get back to DMB OG songs tomorrow. 1 full band and 1 D+T I know it's tough but try to list just 1 each. Mine are Cortez the killer with Warren Haynes from the Central Park release 9.24.03 New york city! All Along the Watchtower from Live In Chicago is my favorite cover by far.
EDIT- 12.19.98 at the United Center, Chicago, Illinois, USA since you're so anal about venue & date

For DMB my favorite is AATW 12-03-98 @ MSG with Haynes and Tim.
Not sure about D&T though.

Full band would definitely be The Maker, Live in Chicago, 12.19.98, United Center.
Dave and Tim it would undoubtedly be Tangerine. The only dated copy I have is 2.19.96 but I like every version I have, which is only a few.

The maker is my favorite cover but individual performance wise - Eyes of the World, Grateful Dead cover 8-11-1995 Greek Theatre...Dave has no idea what the words are but Boyd and Roi are excellent

DMB... not so easy. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Eyes of the World. 8-11-95 at the greek (of course) and i love these threads. unless you have them planned out, could we do a blue water day? there are so many versions of this song and it's one that everyone knows, but not everyone's heard. some 20 minute jams, sometimes just 2 minutes... Would be interesting.
