Do you mean like, Central Park the actual park, or the concert?

SCORE!

i pick Lillywhite, even though he's a pretentious prick, he's done some good work and he's not as pretentious as the DMB fans who think Central Park has the best version of every song.

steve lillywhite because he was one of the major reasons why they were so great in the studio in the early years.

there would have been, yes. but i don't think another producer could have accomplished in the studio what steve did with the first 3 records. so far, that conclusion has been true, although that's an entirely subjective point of view.

I pick Steve the person CP the location and shotgun the weapon. ftmfw. Imagine him just standing there on the grass brandishing a nice 12 gauge. I can, and it's awesome.

Re: Steve Lillywhite Vs. Central Park Vs. Shotgun

Don't you think you people are overrating Lillywhite just a tiny bit? He may be an excellent producer but I think most good producers could have worked with any great band during the band's prime and done a great job. The production of the big 3, in my opinion, doesn't get in the way of the music and doesn't alter the band's sound all that much. I think this fan base has seen badly chosen producers fail more than they've seen mind-blowing producers succeed and Steve Lillywhite's god-status on these boards has been a direct result of that.

Little known fact: the clicking on Central Park is actually Steve Lillywhite firing a shotgun each time Carter hits the bass drum.

If Steve Lillywhite had continued to produce DMB's albums, there wouldn't be a big 3. There would be a big 7.
