Parliament Interpolation in Many 09 Jimi Things

i remember that i noticed this interpolation around the time of alpine/deer creek (the interpolation didn't happen at alpine though) and i've just put off trying to figure out what song it was the were interpolating.

anyway, its Parliament's "Up For the Down Stroke"

the horns interpolate it during tim's solo.

the problem is, they haven't done it on all of the 09 jimi's, but just a few i believe. what made me remember that i knew that hornline from somewhere was listening to last night's tape.

for a vast majority of tim's solo, rashawn and jeff play a hornline derived from the actual words "get up for the down stroke.. everybody get up"

if you click on the youtube link and have last night's show downloaded you'll immediately know what i mean.

Awesome! I got this added to the Gorge Jimi Thing's notes... I'll go through the rest of the tour and figure out which ones have it tomorrow.

there ought to be a thread for interpolations of songs and examples of shows where this happened. there are so many out there and I'll be there will be more that we haven't heard the longer jeff stays.

My contribution is "Land of a Thousand Dances" interpolation in Rapunzel 06.26.04

I don't know how many versions are out there but there can't be many.

Alright, I just went through all of them from the summer and Europe, and it's in 7.22, 7.28, and 9.4. The horns do some other things at the same point on most of the other versions, maybe someone can figure out what those are.
