Warning: this post is just a personal rant, but I had to get it out there.
I know Camden was several days ago, but I keep meaning to post this.
So I was robbed in Camden. For those who don't know, Camden is a pretty crappy town. Lots of drugs and shady characters in the lots. In fact, just driving to the venue used to scare the crap out of me. So I was robbed in Camden, but not by anyone in the parking lot, but by a fellow dave fan.
Not just any Dave fan, but a Warehouse member. During a bathroom break, I came back to find an older couple sitting next to me that wasn't there when I left. I immediately got on their case for barging into the wrong seats, but after some sorting it out it was the other guy that I had been sitting next to during the concert that was in the wrong seat. This new older couple seemed quiet, so I helped shoo the other dude away along with the person behind us. I then knew I had seen this guy at a show before, and told him that, apologizing for the error I had made in thinking he was in the wrong seat. Then I sparked up and offered some, and we all smiled and continued on.
Long story short, my friend needs to goto the bathroom so I leave again towards the end of the show and when I come back, this older couple had taken the fucking 30 dollar tshirt that I had purchased and draped over my chair. I know this because I was looking around like a madman, and got word from some people behind us that they saw them walking with a tshirt, but didn't know it was mine. Son of a bitch!
Now, I'm a poor graduate student and only can afford to buy a tshirt every couple of years. I was so hurt and angered by that dude and his chick, I couldn't believe it! I was also disappointed that a fellow fan would so cheaply rip off another fan. I was in 7th row, dead center, so usually those people are more "mature" fans. I know I may be guilty of being idealistic about the DMB community, but come on. What a god damn lowlife thing to do.
So I bought another shirt, costing me a total of 60 dollars for a shirt. Ok sorry to waste your time if this was a waste of time to read, but I just had to get this off my chest. And dude, if I ever see you again at a show, we may have some words. I'm not a tough guy, and this is not a threat. But I will want to know why you thought that you were entitled to something that wasn't yours.
Otherwise, the Halloween encore kicked ass!!
Thanks for listening, and please don't trash this post, i'm fragile- Brian
