Dave Matthews to perform at Country Music Awards

Dave Matthews will join country's biggest names at this year's CMA Awards, delivering a duet with Kenny Chesney and adding another rock presence to the ceremony's lineup. Last week, it was announced that Daughtry – along with Vince Gill – would perform on the show, which will air on ABC Wednesday, Nov. 11, 8 p.m. ET.

Matthews, 42, will be making his debut appearance on the awards show, where he will perform "I'm Alive," a Top 10 country hit from Chesney's Lucky Old Sun album.

Already announced to perform on the awards show are Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and others.

Sweet. As a DMB fan who grew up listening to country music, and still has a small place for it in my collection, I will enjoy this.

It was on Kenny's album from '08 but re-released on his newest greatest hits album this year and was a single off that released in August.

I never really understood Dave's ball-washing of Chesney. I know they are friends, and that's cool and all, but enough. He once tweeted from a festival that they both were at when dave was performing after Chesney, saying "How does somebody follow Kenny Chesney?". I'm sure Dave was just being respectful, but Christ. The guy isn't Johnny Cash.

I can't stand country. And I listen to A lOT of it. It's pretty much the only thing my friends listen to so I'm around it quite a bit. I respect some country musicians (Chesney, Swift, etc...) but I think the music sucks.
