Now you might say, "but I just want to stick it to the big business hotel, the mini-bar is way overpriced".

To which I'd respond, "Hey, classless douchebag, you're not sticking it to the hotel, you're sticking it to the next guest who will end up having to pay for your douchebaggery once the chambermaid actually notices your witty switch."

Either don't consume anything from the mini-bar or if you do, fucking pay for it.

This PSA was brought to you by the guy currently having to dispute charges on his bill for 3 bottles of vodka and 2 bottles of white wine that he didn't drink, but were found filled with water in the mini-bar he never opened.

To get around this at the hotel I used to work at we would make the guest sign out the mini bar key... would limit situations greatly.

I've had this happen to me, which is why I always check the minibar first when I check into a hotel. Had it happen a couple more times and I brought it to the attention of the staff within 10 minutes of checking in and they waved the fees for me and charged the guy before me...

Note to self, empty the mini-bottles into a flask after first entering a hotel room. Then, immediately call claiming the dude before you filled them up with water.

but nowdays in "modern" hotels, they have mini-bars that are automatic that when a bottle or item is removed, it is automaticly charged to the room, and not to the next guy.

Yeah. And check for clean sheets, soap, toilet paper, shit in the toilet, fresh towels... But then again, I'd use those things rather than a minibar (never) and have a reasonable expectation for people to do THIER fucking jobs rather than have me do it AFTER they checked me in and gave me a room key. No, I'm just like you. But I'm tired of going to the reception to ask for the missing stuff (a lot of times in a two people room I ony found one set of towels and one set of shampoo). They apologize but it's really annoying.
