Goldfinger, but Casino Royale was very, very good.

Re: Best James Bond Movie?

GoldenEye. Perfect Bond movie. Ridiculous yet not too cheesy. Great villain and the best N64 game ever.

Casino Royale and Goldfinger are two very close 2nds.

Re: Best James Bond Movie?

Goldfiinger, and Octopussy are my two favorites. I like the old bond movies the best. The new ones are too high tech and into too many effects.

Re: Best James Bond Movie?

Thunderball has always been my favorite. I'm 100% convinced that On Her Majesty's Secret Service would be the best if Connery was in it. Lazenby wasnt terrible, but he just wasnt Bond.

Re: Best James Bond Movie?

Personally, I feel any Bond movie made between 1962 and 1977 is solid (possibly with the exception of Man With The Golden Gun though I think it deserves to be there). After The Spy Who Loved Me, Moore's quality fell off the table. Some people love Octopussy but I have never been a big fan. Post-1977 I think the only Bonds that deserve to be mentioned are Goldeneye and Casino Royale.

I totally agree except that I really didn't think Goldeneye was that great. Casino Royale on the other hand is easily as good as any other Bond movie ever made. I'd say my top 3 Bond flicks are Thunderball, Moonraker (just loved the shuttles when I was younger), and Casino Royale.

Is it bad I voted for Goldeneye just because of the N64 game?

Re: Best James Bond Movie?

Wow I can't believe Goldeneye's doing so well here. Mind you I've never really cared much about the Bond franchise, but I'd sorta been under the impression especially with several years retrospective that it's been widely regarded as one of the worst, certainly at least of the Brosnan ones. I've never seen the whole thing, but plenty of clips, and it seemed riddled with bad one liners to me.

Brosnan was in far worse Bond films - see: Die Another Day.

Goldeneye had a terrific N64 game. Thus, it's remembered as a terrific movie.

Man that had come out right during the time I was working at a video rental store, back in a previous life, and for WEEKS we simply couldn't keep a single copy of that N64 game in stock for more than a few hours at a time. The kids LOVED IT.

Without a doubt one of the best N64 games. Goldeneye, Super Smash Bros, and Diddy Kong Racing were the 3 best N64 games.

The first half of Die Another Day was awesome. As soon as the movie relied on CGI effects is when it went south.

I'm so behind on Bond films. I'm gonna try and make it a goal to see every one I haven't already watched by the time the next movie comes out. I've only seen three from this list...Casino Royale, Goldfinger, and GoldenEye. All three are great.

Well, you have plenty of time. Filming for the next movie begins at the end of next year. It'll be released in mid to late 2011.
