How About a Spring DMB College Stadium Tour?

So we all basically agree that the reason DMB doesn't do stadium tours anymore has to do with the fact that they can overfill many 20,000 seat ampitheatres, but can't quite fill 50,000 seat stadiums.

Well what if the stadiums were college football stadiums during spring semester? The show at Vanderbilt was one of the highest energy shows of the spring tour, and was easily sold out. Virginia Tech in 2007 was the same story, although the show was for a different cause.

So what do you guys think? Does this sound like a reasonable way to get a stadium tour without having to worry about filling seats?

Anything that brings DMB back to Vandy stadium, or Nashville in general, is good by me.

Re: How About a Spring DMB College Stadium Tour?

of course they did do a show at Crew Stadium in columbus that only seat around 25,000 and that wasn't even close to being sold out of course three major shows in Ohio all around the same time was not a good business plan.

I was at the Nashville show and it was full of energy, but it was not sold out.

Agreed stadium shows suck. The sound is usually terrible and the its very hard to get a decent seat. Personally I dont think it would be worth doing a stadium tour they arent going to sell out and the cost of renting a stadium is very expensive. They would have to be very small stadiums. As I recall Dave spoke for the band and said that they did not like playing stadiums because of the lack of intimacy.

Re: How About a Spring DMB College Stadium Tour?

I know someone has mentioned this on here before but BYU stadium looks amazing. Never been there but this picture is unreal. Provo is only about an hour from Salt Lake City could be a nice way to make up for missing those shows.
