Ha. Seems like everyone of those 99 shows is on DT except for 2.5.99. If anyone has it care to PM me...

I'm watching, for the 100th time DT Radio City Blu-ray, so that's why I was wondering. I remember many people saying Tim has done solo's much better than that one.

EVERY other Tim LIOG solo is better than that one.

This I think has its fullest version as there is great build up. I only know 1 other D&T LIOG's where the solos finale features Dave coming in playing, 5:15 on in Scott Brown's recording....

99 has some great ones too, but this is my favorite.

Regarding LIOG at Radio City in 2007

I heard from stage personnel that Dave told Timmy that the crowd would cheer at just about anything and Tim dissagreed. Dave said that he could play one note and they would love him... so Tim did it during LIOG and that's why Dave looks at him laughing when the crowd goes nuts.

Sort of. I'd heard it before, but I agree with the point someone made in a previous thread about the solo, in that it's kinda dumb to do that just to prove a point when the show's gonna become our only released D+T video. Do it at some other show.

Ya, i see what your saying. I still find it funny just because of how true it is. People go crazy at anything Dave or one of the guys do. In this case it was one note being played for like 2 minutes

don't get mad at me but..
i think id take tims solo at radio city over many of his other solos, d+t or full band. it gives you something to cling on to as a listener rather than having to try to follow his often extremely rhythmically and musically complex solos that kind of just blow by you. i love that how he just holds onto that one note and it swells with the energy and response of the audience, in my opinion, creating a really special moment. again, while it might not be the most musically or rhythmically complex solo of tim's, or one of his "best", as a listener and as a moment of live music i think its really cool.

I'm a big fan of several '96 versions of LIOG, and the audio quality on some of these shows is outstanding (Lost Acoustics version is a prime example).
