Dave Matthews Performance
first of all any ideas of good interviews/other sources to use besides actual song lyrics, that deal with death? second, anyone have a link to that interview in 01 i believe where that guy spent a night out with dave? i saw it on here a few days ago but i looked back through the threads and cant find it. also, i know about the charlie rose interviews, but i havent seen them in a while, is there one that talks about death more than others? thanks for any help everyone |

I know that Dave mentions death, specifically the death of LeRoi and Chris Hani, prior to songs....

For the Charlie Rose interviews : either look on google video, (I know they have some, possibly all) or check outthe Charlie Rose website, and I think they have everything in alphabetical order down the side. They had all the interviews on there when I looked about two or three months ago.

Agreed, the Charlie Rose Interviews are great if you're looking for a well-spoken, lucid, and serious Dave. This is a great one if you're looking for a good example of Dave's personality and true nature (as it seems), however: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HZcd9WFqPI. There are other good ones out there, especially with a younger Dave, and I think think if you watch the VH1 Inside Out on his trip to Africa with Trey, you get one of the truest looks at what he's like when he's at his most comfortable.

thanks for the link
how about the 01 interview where dave the interviewer spent the night out with him, they discussed the suicide of a musician dave knew, and dave talked about suicide as well |
