Long Black Veil Cover

I've always loved this song, recently re-discovered it and decided to upload.
Comments are much appreciated

(Not much in the video, mics on the back of my camera and it made for better audio turned away.)

Re: Long Black Veil Cover

Started out pretty nice.... good solid guitar work on the opening/main riff. Singing and playing at the same time seemed to throw you off a few times... adding and missing beats here and there, mostly during the chorus when the chords are changing quicker. Singing wasn't too bad down low, but needs more support... put some air behind it and you'd have a nice lower range. When you went up to the higher range, lots of pitch problems... but you do have an ear. You weren't singing in the wrong key or anything, just heard some problems getting up to the higher notes. Keep at it though!

Re: Long Black Veil Cover

more on the vocals like whitey said. not sure im a fan of the different octaves throughout with the singing. low on the chorus high and the verse or vice versa. but starting out low and ending high isnt a choice i would make.

practice practice practice until you memorize the guitar part and dont have to think about it while signing. It takes a long time for a player to develop the ability to sign and play instantaneously, until then practice practice practice.

Re: Long Black Veil Cover

this is one of my favorite dave covers to play, I only have problems with the vocals on the third verse. You sounded good, but just like they said, put more power behind your vocals, and be more confident with the chord changes during the verse.

Felt like Jack Johnson covering the Dave cover.

I just listened to your cover of long Black Veil. I'm not sure if you're looking for a critique or not but i've got some points I thought might help.

1. Focus on your breathing - It seems on some lines you run out of air before the end of the line and it causes you to come up short and causes some pitch problems. (Slayer who ran)

2. Quite likely partially tied to the first issue mentioned but be sure to enunciate (sp?) the end of your words. I noticed some of the words were cut short "Agree(d)" "Crow(d)" "Nigh(t)."

You've got good guitar work and a quality summer time tone. I enjoyed your cover quite a bit. Just a couple of thoughts I had while I was listening. I hope i didn't offend you.

it was 2 in the morning and i didnt feel like projecting, that probably explains the lack in vocal delivery. i do appreciate the comments though.
