Rediscovered Love for a Song

So this morning I had the urge to listen to Lover Lay Down on the way to work. I haven't listened to it in such a long time, not for any particular reason - I just haven't (although one of my favorite lines is from this song). Anyway, I was sitting on the subway and just thinking how amazing this song is and I can't believe I put it away for a while.

So have any of you recently rediscovered a song?

Recently over the summer...and R&R a couple weeks ago. Both awesome songs, but for some reason I hadn't listened to them in a while.

Re: Rediscovered Love for a Song

I've really really been getting into The Stone again lately. Before it was a top 20 song, but this past summer Jeff was just ripping that ending up (see 8.1.09 for example) so it's just been growing on me more and more to get into my top 5. Still got love for though but Jeff just completes this song.

Re: Rediscovered Love for a Song

A little over a week ago, I've been listening to Watchtower a whole lot more than usual. Noticed how much more I love the non-Stefan intro Watchtower's (aka the older Watchtower versions) than the current versions w/Stefan's intro. I wish they'd go back into the Dave acoustic intro.

I'm doing that with #41...there's some really good #41's that are just chill because of what he does.

I should have clarified...yes, I fast forward through the solo, but some of the fills he has during the first two minutes of the sound really give the song a chiller vibe. It's cool. Ironically enough, one of them is from 2005 that I love.

He made the verses sound more jazzy, IMO. That's what I love about the Butch versions.

Re: Rediscovered Love for a Song

This is pretty much how I cycle through songs in my library. I'll forget about one for a while, and then i'll rediscover it. I've done it with Loving Wings like 6 times. Always forgetting how good that is.

Re: Rediscovered Love for a Song

I have rediscovered so many tracks over the years but the two most consistently minblowing officially released tracks are Ants Marching studio and Tripping Billies from L@L. Everytime these tracks come on after I haven't heard them in a while I find myself singing and feeling my original love for this band and Dave Matthews songs.
