#41 studio sax solo

Anyone ever tabbed out this solo? Would anyone like to? I'm a guitar player and that solo is one of my favorites and has been since when I was just barley a DMB fan. I'd like to figure it out on guitar, but for me progress has been slow. Anyone help would be awesome!

Re: #41 studio sax solo

I've got started on it, I only got the 1st half tabbed out and its not 100 percent accurate but its close. The part I have tabbed out ends at the part where it slows down and there is more than one sax for a few bars. I'd finish it tonight but I gotta go, so I thought it'd be nice to start on the first half.

i don't remember there being any part of that solo where there's 2 saxes going... what's the time mark on the track?

05:04, I believe the flute starts, and around 05:10 another sax starts playing a riff in the background.

@5:10 there are two saxes riffing at the same and hten at 5:27 I think he changes to a different sax cause the tone is all different.

flute and sax are play the same notes at the same time
5:10 is where the violin enters, not another sax

5:10 and 5:27 are both one sax with violin in the background

You're right the violin comes in at 5:10 or 5:11 and just slides up to the E on the 1 beat a couple times in a row. I still think theres another sax for a short period of time. The sax that is doin the solo quiets out a little and right at 5:10 you can hear another sax play a little riff on a higher register without the first sax ever stopping.

@5:27 There is only 1 sax, but I think its a different sax than the one that had been playin the whole solo. I don't know much about saxophones, so it could be the same one just a different technique witht he mouth or something, but the tone goes from being soft and liquid to harsher.

Anyways, I might have the rest of the tab done tonight, if not for sure in the coming days

I'm not hearing anything at 5:10 besides the violin and 1 sax unless my speakers just aren't picking up some insignificant little thing... and that change in tone you're hearing at 5:27 isn't a change of sax, still a tenor... he just goes into the lower register which has a naturally different timbre on all saxes
