Back to Basics

Ever notice that with almost every video promo for every album after uttad, there are interviews of the band saying something along the lines of "we are getting back to basics" or it is "the true meaning of this band" or it is "something we started from the ground up/from scratch"???

i just watched promo videos on stand up, busted stuff, btcs, and big whiskey, and you could take the band's words and put them in any one of those videos and they'd be the same

Re: Back to Basics

LOL...yeah, I did notice the same thing...like footage from Stand Up proclaiming that they were getting back to their roots, etc...really?!

I think that they meant it when it came to BWGGK though, simply because this album is superior to anything they've put out since the "basics." Plus the emotional ties to Roi are undoubtedly strong.

Re: Back to Basics

It seems with BWGK, they actually did it this time. They really did go back to the basics with jamming together, and working the arrangements around with everyone there. Plus they included Tim who goes back to the formation of the band.

Re: Back to Basics

Yeah... and them saying that the album is there best work yet. I remember Boyd and Carter saying in a 20/20 interview that Everyday was their best work yet. Then you hear that with all subsequent albums. It's kind of cheesy that they repeat stupid lines like these.

Re: Back to Basics

Would you prefer they say, "well it's good, but it's no where near BTCS and we feel like were sort of out off our game with this one, just a little though?" They're just trying to sell it.
