Re: DMB openers

Hard choice between Bartender, DDTW, and OSW. But I went with OSW.

Re: DMB openers

its all about the mood the song sets for the show. For me, I like one sweet world. It is mellow, has a lot of room for solos and scats and its perfect to move on into the next song. Songs like DDTW and bartender tend to be intsense and explosive, but its hard to have an amazing song to follow and a lot of time the audience tends to be sitting down for the second song instead of getting into it.

Of the songs ive seen open, Dreaming Tree was my favorite, but the best of whats around was great too. OSW just has a great vibe

Two Step

Examples? Alpine 07 (kinda had to be there) and LT 13 are my personal favorites.

Re: DMB openers

Don't drink the water is my pick out of the list, but I'd love to c them switch up their openers I've imagined minarets being an awesome opener as well as hello again, eh hee >> water into wine jam, you never know, joyride, and I'm surprised on this whiskey tour they didn't bust out with a seven opener. Don't get me wrong I love don't drink the water and rapunzel but those songs seem to open every other show I go to. And two step has closed most shows I've seen as well. As well as watchtower that's why when I heard the watch @ spac n2 I headed for the parking lot and missed the all holy halloween. A little more variety is all I'm asking for.

Re: DMB openers

I voted for Two Step but I agree that Rapunzel is the clear choice especially when they play a couple more high energy songs behind it before playing SDL or one of the other songs that has regularly hit the 2 or 3 spot lately. All that said I have had 2 or 3 BOWA openers that were perfect in the leadoff spot.

My first show was 6.23.06 at Hershey and that opened. Such an amazing start to an amazing show.
