Recently I've Been...

Thinking about how amazing this song sounded this summer...I wouldn't call it one of my faves but is in my top 30. Anyways, the three times I heard it this summer it was just amazing. Anyone else feel this way? Or are there any other songs you thought the band played especially well? I just find it odd after such an amazing 2 night stand at SPAC the Night 1 Recently is what I remember most.

Recently in C'Ville FTW. Also every Two Step was played to perfection.

Re: Recently I've Been...

Yes, Recently in CVille should be on next year's Warehouse disc. To have John D'Earth play in on it was historically emotional - not to mention one of the best performances of it I've ever heard.

Re: Recently I've Been...

To answer your question Watchtower was the standout song for me. I used to be bummed to get watchtower cause I'd rather get one of "their own" Ants, Billies, etc. but the way they played it this year I just couldn't get enough Watchtower.

Re: Recently I've Been...

I thought Jimi and #41 were surprisingly good. Jeff and Carter rocked it.

LITHOG is the best new live song...

Re: Recently I've Been...

The song is in my top 5, I absolutely love it.

OP, funny that you mention the one from SPAC. It was definitely one of the best songs of the weekend.

Watchtower stood out to me this year. It was awesome. But recently is great I'd like to see it next year a lot.

Winner! I was lucky enough to hear it 3 times this summer and C'Ville was the best. My jaw dropped at IZOD this year (didn't see the MSG set!) and loved every second of it. C'Ville has John D'Earth, so yeah, that one wins.

Watchtower was the standout for me this year, too. It got better each time I heard it and by the time I heard it in Scranton, the song and Stairway were completely spot on. All in all, good year for me!!
