"The Stone" best recording

What's the best recording of "The Stone" with Tim on electric? Or the best live released version.

looking for a live version either officially released or by tapers. Best quality out there. However the studio version is awesome!

Greek Theater Night 2 2009 is really good. Jeff is really good on the outro. Tim really stands out too.

no. LT 2, LT 3, and Listener Supported are all better imo.

As for this year, I have listened to all The Stones from this year and my personal favorite is Deer Creek. Best performance by far.

Everyone will say SPAC, but SPAC was the first time they had played it in a while and its just not as crisp as DC

Re: "The Stone" best recording

why does everyone get a boner for RR 05? that version is sloppy all around. probably my least favorite officially released Stone.

Re: "The Stone" best recording

deer creek this year. honestly best version of the song ive ever heard. hands down. tim absolutely destroys it, daves voice is dead on, and the wise man outro where the band completely stops and let the crowd sing and clap was seriously one of the best moments at a dmb concert ive experienced

WH5V2, excellent version.
Love the intro to the GGP (LT2) version though.

Pshaw, I've been to SPAC numerous times and seen plenty of songs I'd rather have substituted with something else, like HFTGL, Sugar Will, Everyday, etc.

Have you heard The Stone from SPAC? Tell me you don't get chills when Dave gets behind it and goes into the wail during the outro as Jeff is blowing away on that thang.

I am not saying it's better than other 09' Stone's because I simply have not listened to them, but to take away from this Stone just because it's from SPAC is just as bad as putting it on a pedistal because it is from SPAC.

Re: "The Stone" best recording

was at dc and spac this year. spac's version beat it out by a smidge...itwas pretty cool with dave actually singing the outro as well as the entire song. not to take anything away from dc....any stone is a great version.

im not takin away from it just cus its spac, believe me i understand the verswion was great. for me tho, how unique dc was is why i loved it that much more. ive never heard a version with the band completely stopping for the crowd to sing louddd as hell and clap. ive heard dave sing the wise man outro before, even tho it is amazing, dc still beats it for me
