I wonder if Kirkman is going to man up and actually reveal the origins of the virus. He's avoided questions about the cause of the virus like the plague in interviews

thats not much different than any other creator of a zombie apocalypse. there's really no good answer....flu mutation, vaccine mutation, bio-chem warfare...there's only so many reasons

and the reality of it is the shit would happen so fast there's not much research that could be done

The trailer pretty much looks like it's going to be revealed. Since they showed all that build up and stuff that happened before, it would be kinda dumb not to.

One thing Z Nation got right is that the zombies ran at you. They weren't dragging along all slow and crap. That's much more menacing - a faster creature that actually runs at you. That's what needs to happen.

Why would they all the sudden do that? We've seen freshly turned people before. They don't just run at you like Z Nation.

Walking Dead zombies ran in the pilot and the few episodes after that. And they showed problem solving abilities. Since then they've been slow moving annoyances rather than actual threats.

you're referring to Guts, right? Where Rick and Glen saved everyone in the department store? I remember them being more agile, but not running. It was also like 3 years ago in show time, so the zombies are significantly more decayed now

Yeah they were coming at them at a decent jogging pace and climbing fences in Guts. In Days Gone By, Morgan's wife was turning the door knob on the front door of her house.

I get that they've decayed more and aren't capable of anything but dragging ass anymore, but the intelligence is no longer there, either. Now they just bump into stuff.

i think that and the scene where the zombie smashes the rock into the department store door are nods to classic zombie films. If they showed more of the same, their intelligence would naturally have to progress over the course of several seasons

remember, Kirkman etc wasnt sure if this would go past Season 1...the S1 finale was written as a series finale just in case....I dont think we've seen any evidence of intelligence since then, and i think its been on purpose
