I'm there. Doing a run from KY into Chicago. First time at the United Center. Love Chicago, saw the Caravan in 2011 and had some great eats!

I'll be attempting to setup a hotel group block downtown somewhere. Not terribly far from the United Center (~$10 cab ride each way).

    More information soon!

Yeah keep us posted. Never been to the UC so information is helpful for me. Assuming I do go I'll be taking the train into town from Michigan.

Very easy from there. Amtrak will get you into Union Station. The UC is about 2 miles west of that. Easily accessible by the Blue Line or a fairly cheap cab.

Yeah that's what Google came up with too. Probably get a hotel near Union Station just for ease of when I get there and going home the next day. Will be a crazy two days but I've driven to Cinci and back with no hotel I'm sure I can handle this.

I am so pumped. I just had a feeling the United Center would get a show this year. Trying to decide whether I should take off and do the Lousiville -> Chicago run.

I have seen a few shows there and have always been just off the floor in the back and have liked the seats. Good view over the people on the floor but not super close. I am thinking about going for general admission this time.

So there are a couple of fun pre-party places for the UC that I usually attend for Hawks () or Bulls games.

    1) Moretti's: easy walk to the UC (barring a blizzard or something). Huge facility. Easy to get to by cab or blue line. Can fit lots of people. Overall good times. They usually offer a complementary shuttle to the UC but like I said, it's also walkable.

    2) Hawkeye's: A little off the beaten path. Pretty healthy walk in the winter BUT they offer shuttle school buses to and from the UC on event days for a couple of bucks and you can find free parking in their lot if you get there relatively early. Much more of a college type atmosphere bar. Always packed with fans before events. Been there before games and concerts (Bruce/Muse) and I've always had great times there.

Just thought I'd throw out some info to the out of towners!

I'll be there. How does Warehouse ticketing work with arenas? Do you request a certain section or do they just give you a seat anywhere?

That's probably the closest (decent) hotel to the UC. I'd say it's probably a 15 min walk right down Madison.

Any of the hotels in the loop would be fine too, just not really walkable to the UC. Cabs will be easy to find from anywhere in the city on the way to UC, but after the show they'll be tough to find.

In the past it was if you didn't get GA on the floor you got wherever they sat you. Now it looks like they have categories of reserved 1, 2 and 3. So maybe you can ask for only reserved 1 so you if you don't get good seats you can go to TM or something. Not sure.

Guessing the Blue Line going back to the city is probably crazy busy after the show too?

crown plaza is close. id also do a priceline name your own price for the loop or river north. youll likely get a super great deal in a great hotel close to everything. this past year we got a michigan ave hotel for $90 for the 4th of july.

if youre looking to go cheap, there is a really nice hostel in greek town, walking distance to the venue. http://www.chicagoparthenonhostel.com/

the west loop, greek town, restaurant row (randolph street, west of the interstate) all have great food and bars.

breakfast at Meli Cafe and Artopolis is super damn yummy. http://melicafe.com/

Well the blue line shouldn't be too bad, but it's not all that close to the UC so you would have to walk a ways to get there. Your best bet leaving the show is to find a cab, walk, or take the bus. If you walk east a bit, you could find cabs more easily as the crowd will not be as big.
