Re: Muse Appreciation

I know a lot of people really hate Guiding Light from the new album, but Ive been listening to it a lot. I really love it. Not a top Muse song, but still awesome.

Just saw them last month, but have been into them for about 5 years or so. Their show was phenomenal, one of the best I've seen. They had a great creative stage set-up. Some of my favorite songs are Plug In Baby, Bliss, and Undisclosed Desires.

if you could get three CDs of theirs I'd say Absolution, Black Holes and Revelations, and The Resistance.

Like everyone said, Absolution is definitely their best. But I'd have to say Origin of Symmetry is second for me, and Showbiz is pretty awesome too.

picked up Absolution yesterday, listened to it twice through so far. as it turns out, probably half of the Muse i've heard on Pandora is from that album. it's great though, i think i may be getting into a new band

I've been on a big Muse kick again lately and thought I'd give this baby a bump. It's been long enough.

I know a lot of people didn't love 2nd Law, but I didn't think it was bad. Madness is probably a top 10 Muse song for me and the portion after the guitar solo is a pretty massive eargasm.

Haven't listened to The Resistance in awhile, but I remember originally liking it better than 2nd Law. I should go back and listen to it again.

Love this band. Saw them in NYC at the Garden last April and was 2nd row center on the floor - just an incredible experience.

Unfortunately didn't get into these guys until post Resistance / pre 2nd Law and was rather disappointed by those albums (save for the Exogenesis songs) after going back and discovering BH&R, OOS and Absolution. That said, supposedly Matt wants to strip away the electronic and orchestra stuff one the next album and go back to more of a 3 piece rock band approach. I hope that is the case.

Still, they are incredible live and Matt's come up with some of the best riff's / arrangements I've ever heard. Knights, Stockholm, Citizen Erased, New Born, Hysteria - just can't get enough of those songs.

Muse has been my most listened to music the past few years. I loved 2nd Law, although the final track was a little disappointing.

I maintain that Origins of Symmetry is their best album, complete raw energy and creativity. I like how they have evolved and tried new things, and new things that don't suck.

Just got tickets to see them in a 1,500 person venue in LA in a few weeks. So excited. I have seen them plenty of times in big venues and they have an incredible stage show. I am wondering how they will be in a small venue.

Just gave Drones a first listen. I thought it was pretty good. Keeps a good pace through the first 9 tracks (two of which aren't songs, just inserts of a drill sargeant prior to Pyscho and part of a JFK speech before Defector), then kind of goes a different direction at the end. Reapers is my early favorite track.
