Re: What was the last movie you watched?

So I might as well post this since the movie opens up in less than a month.

I saw the new Mad Max about nine months ago. It was fucking awesome. I need to see it again. Such a fun bloody catch your breath kind of movie.

Lot of mixed reviews with this one but The visual effects were fantastic. I personally enjoyed but thought it was a little to long.

Unfriended- I'll give the film some credit, as it was a bit better than I was anticipating after seeing the trailer/previews. Not saying much though, cause I thought it would be another steaming pile of crap. The idea(s) and execution were great to an extent. I was fairly entertained throughout the whole movie (pretty short at 80-85 mins), and found the movie rather creepy and suspenseful at times. unfortunately, the characters are pretty unlikable and annoying (including the damn spirit of the damn thing haunting the characters, whom is frankly just as unsympathetic to begin with), the R rating that slightly got my hopes up (originally thought it'd be another lame PG13 "horror" flick) was never actually obtained (death scenes are pretty weak/could have been much gorier and graphic), and some of the jump scares they pry in are downright dumb. still, I'll lean on the positives just a tad bit more, especially since I went with extremely low expectations. 6/10

The story is basic. It's the characters and the world that is created that makes is so much fun.

Oh yea, and the action....the wall-to-wall fucking action.

Starting to watch the Babadook for the first time. Been saving this one, but last horror movie I saved was Conjuring and that was largely disappointing. Hope this one is better.

    The Babadook 7/10

Really creepy, does such a great job of being a children's fable monster story but for adults. The book was so scary.

Ending was a bit of a letdown, wish it ended the way the book portrayed.

    I'll take that.

I assumed it would be wall-to-wall action but so was something like Shoot 'em Up.

Re: What was the last movie you watched?

so apparently Age Of Ultron is only getting about a 75% so far on Rotten Tomatoes, which surprises me, I felt it was better than that. I mean, I can't deny there are still some "issues" between the second and third acts where it feels like some things are done somewhat abruptly. A remark I've heard many times already and I totally agree with, this film should've been quite a bit longer, it could've easily used another 20 minutes to better flesh things out. And the kicker is, Whedon openly said there is a TON of deleted scenes on this thing (and will absolutely be on the DVD according to Amazon, though a bit of confusion if it'll be put in an extended cut, or just on there as bonus material), but said they'd stay that way. That while yea he shot a lot more -- I remember his first cut apparently was like 3.5 hours long -- he also claimed every one of them deserved to be on the cutting room floor.

I'm watching a bunch of old Dragon Ball episodes. Show is so amazingly funny. Excited that in a couple weeks, I'll be all set and ready for Dragon Ball Z. The new movie comes out here in July I think, so I'm getting ready for shit I surely have forgotten in the 14-15 years since I've legitimately followed this show.

Saw Unfriended last night, not a very good movie, if you're going to be that bad of a movie at least give me some titties.

They did run a preview for a new M. Night movie that actually looked pretty scary. I was a big M. Night guy back in the day, Signs is still one of my favorite movies
