speaking of Thor 2... cause I just watched it again a couple weeks ago. Are we not necessarily yet supposed to fully understand what/how Loki did what he did over the climax of that movie? or am I just an idiot? like from where he sure seemed to die in Thor's arms on the plains of that other realm/world (where they went to fight Malaketh) and his body got all sort of dark looking, but then we see later by himself he transforms into that generic Asgardian soldier, who then goes home to talk to Odin. was Loki using his magic, that he was never actually physically there on that little adventure with Thor and Jane? He was just projecting himself from Asgard the entire time (and so presumably, as such, he couldn't really die, if it was just one of his holograms or whatever)

So ready to get off work today. The binge might get lengthy tonight. I have to work Saturday morning at 8 (fortunately it's just a run and will be a ton of fun) so I'm not sure how I'm gonna turn it off at an appropriate time.

Enjoy it while you can my friend. I was spoiled last year because my wife was so busy with the wedding and doing things with her mother and sister that I got used to watching whatever I wanted whenever I wanted...that has changed dramatically.

I am counting the minutes! I haven't been this psyched for a show in a long time. It's going to be like a 13 hour movie! I am just falling in love with this new form of television. I never thought I'd say this, but I am really starting to like Marvel more than DC. Though, I still haven't really read many Marvel comics, but they're just nailing every movie and show they do.

Pretty good so far! On episode one, pretty dark. Takes place at some point after avengers. New York is being rebuilt.

Yeah they said it takes place shortly after the NY Invasion in Avengers. So I guess timeline wise it'd be about the same as Iron Man 3.

Yeah we will have to be careful with spoilers here. I am already on episode seven, loving this show so much. Also I heard it takes place two years after Avengers, which seems to fit if you ask me.

    Good call Roose.

I got the first two episodes in and loved it. I'm not quite sure about Foggy yet. I can't decide if his acting is good or not. I think I like him, maybe it's the stigma of knowing its Fulton from Mighty Ducks 2 hahaha. Though, his character is kind of cheesy in the comics I've read so far, so maybe that's what they're going for.

Like everyone else has said, the show is very dark and gritty, and I like the approach for sure. So far the first two episodes feel kind of like Batman Begins in tone. Only issue I would take is that because of that tone it doesn't seem to fit the rest of the MCU. Granted they mentioned the battle of NY a couple times, but other than that it doesn't fit the rest of the upbeat colorful vibe of the Avenger movies. But that's ok, as that could get to be too much. At some point you have to shake things up a bit.

Really psyched to watch more episodes. The guy that plays Matt is absolutely perfect. I also dig the amount of elements they've managed to bring in from the comics so far. All in all this show has the potential to be the best show in its genre and looks to be setting the bar pretty high for the remaining shows they're releasing to Netflix. Score yet another win for Marvel!!!

Yeah it's hard for me to imagine someone like Coulson fitting in to this world. At the same time I do feel like it fits, it feels like a real life MCU instead a comic bookie MCU. Does that make sense?

2.) Careful getting into cars, specifically SUVs. You could lose a head.

Yes it totally works on its own. They mention "The Incident" regarding to what happens in Avengers. But I am on episode seven and haven't heard anything like "Aliens, Ironman, Hulk, Tony Stark, portal, Loki, Captain America" It's different than anything else Marvel has done.

Hopefully some other people will back me up, but you will be fine.

Cool. I don't mind occasional reference or whatever, I just don't care about the shared universe thing and I like when a film (or TV show) stands on its own.

Yeah, this definitely stands on its own. As I mentioned before that's maybe the ONLY very very very small gripe I have with the show. It shares the same universe but doesn't really feel like it. However, Winter Soldier took a darker tone, it looks like Ultron may too, and next year's Civil War I would imagine will have a darker tone as well. I do like that they're able to bring all of these movies and shows together and cover everything. Dark and gritty, action packed, light and fun and even comedic aspects. There's really something for everyone.

What I like about Daredevil is it feels real, almost in a Batman sense. I think the reason it feels darker than the rest of the MCU is that Hell's Kitchen is a pretty terrible place and kinda of cut off from the outside world, almost like Gotham. It's one of the main reasons this show is already worlds better than the TV show Gotham, as in it it's not hokey or comic-booky.

    Thought the same. Very Nolanesque.
