Dave's Guitar Sound Live

I am curious if anyone knows what Dave runs his acoustic guitars through live. I know he uses Rockbridge guitars with Fishman Matrix pickups. He is running through a Radial JD-6 and JD-I Passive Direct Box (found that info here - http://davematthewsband.com/gear/band-equipment).

There has got to be more to it than that. Any ideas or leads?

try one of these...haven't watched them in awhile, but maybe they'll help. I, myself, don't know off the top of my head when his guitars are run through.

I had not seen that before, interesting watches, thanks for sharing. The run down of the raised b string gauges was particularly cool considering I am restringing a guitar to that tuning tonight I also like how Tim plays the "cheap" Flying V because he likes the paint

Thanks for posting those videos. Neat to get to see a behind the curtain look at the guitars and setups.

Cool! Thank you for posting these. I'd seen the first before, but not the others. They still don't distinctly answer my question, but it appears that he just runs through those DI boxes. The preamps must be amazing and the EQ masterfully dialed in for the front of house.

Many factors from guitar, strings, pickups, di, his playing, the engineer, soundboard preamps and eq, speakers, power amps for said speakers.

I've witnessed sound checks where the tech will play a guitar to set level for monitors and front of house, guitarist will then play and it's completely different tone and feel. How someone plays is a bigger factor than most people think.

I love Dave's sound from his Taylor with the band, but aside from that, most Taylor guitars I've heard dont sound that great. They are really thin and midrange-y.
