One of my best friend's dad is on the board of the Nets. Will definitely be finding out if I can get hooked up somehow, if WH doesn't come through.

Would love to check this place. Won't be easy to get there on the Friday before Xmas. Would definitely recommend the train to all going.

You can take pretty much any train to Barclay's. 2 3 4 5 B D N Q R all stop at Atlantic-Barclay's station, but other trains have stations within blocks of the venue.

    Trip planner helps. http://www.mta.info/

It's simple. Get on any of these trains (2 3 4 5 B D N Q R) going downtown. When you hear/see Atlantic Ave-Barclay's Center, get off. You're there. You can catch those trains all over NYC, including major stations like Penn, Grand Central, Times Square, Union Square...Syracuse station is still under construction from what I hear.

Trains from Syracuse are way too unreliable. I'd probably drive most of the way until I can find a place to park the car. I still dont have it figured out because usually I'd just fly in, take a cab to a hotel close to the venue and start playing.... but that's crazy money right now

    Re: **Official Brooklyn Thread**

im excited for this and will more than likely go to the show, but here is a problem that should be fixed by the time the tickets go on sale.

i saw jay z there this past sunday. the sound is alright, nothing special but im sure that changes between each artist. the BIG issue was that i bought 6 tickets to the show in section 225. the seats were numbered 5-10. we got to the arena and the row is actually split. seats 1-5 are together and then there is a large 7 foot gap between seats 5 and 6-15. the gap is for some opening below so that people can get to the seats in the section below. yes, technically the seats are all in the same row, but that gap sucks especially when one person in your party has to sit in that seat by themselves and the rest in the other part of the row. spoke with guest relations and because the show was sold out, they couldnt do anything to help us. it also effected the row in front of us to. so hopefully when tickets go on sale for future events, they'll put it on the ticket that theres a gap.

the second big issue was the fact that they sold seats that they thought were gonna be in the arena but in the end, were never installed. so people had tickets but no physical seats. once again, im sure that will be fixed by the time these tickets go on sale, but they are big issues none the less.

of course there are always problems with new arenas when they first open, but i expect the kinks to be worked out of the arena come december. it has a similar small feel to mohegan sun, for those who have been there.

Go for pit, avoid the insanity!!!

I can't wait to get in there and see it. Its not often a brand new arena opens up.

Sad for no MSG, but excited to check out Barclays and to see them two nights in a row at Izod! BTW, there are a lot of great bars and restaurants near Barclays. And probably a few more that will be opening between now and 12/21.

never assume an appropriate song will be played at a DMB show. i was convinced that The Last Stop would be the last song at the final caravan in NYC last year. but i guess that just made too much sense. but yes. in theory, when the world ends would be a great song to open or close with.

How easy is it to get in and out of the venue (to get the subways)? Is it a stairway stampede to get out like MSG?

Not sure if this was discussed yet. But this show will be the 10 year anniversary of the James Brown show at MSG. Pretty cool coincidence.
