Your thoughts on #35...

I love BWGK, but I think #35 is a really disappointing end. I realise the whole idea of having roi finish the album, but they would have so many better jams...

I think #35 was their last drunk night with Roi in the studio.

Dave: "yeah, Gr-oi! Keep playin' that little part you just did. Again...again, yeah just like that, over and over."

Roi: one second. I just threw up a little in my mouth...I'm okay, here we go...where am I?

I do not like it. I think I counted it. LeRoi does the same thing 23 times. Didn't they say on some of the documentaries they had A BUNCH of noodles. I'm sure there were better ones to choose from, but we can just assume that this is what they thought was best. Maybe to the band members, there was something special about it that we wouldn't understand or know about unless they told us.

I think it's fitting.. the music keeps moving on and Roi starts and ends the album

For those who actually think: Maybe they wanted to save the better jams so they could evolve into songs further down the road

yeah its fitting but its not good, I would like to think they would still be able to find something better and sitll have other things for the rare chance that they made another album and wanted him on it

I like it for sentimental reasons. It works well if the disc is looped from #35 to Grux. But, I don't like that the track is not separated from You & Me, and I don't like that for the Euro version, #35 is still attached to You & Me and isn't moved to after Corn Bread.

I hope it was looped. You telling me that in roughly 19 years of recording, THATS the best ROI instrumental the band has in the vault? Lazy is what it sounds like to me.

There has to be some significance to that specific recording, I don't understand that as a choice (musically) to close the album however I like it for sentimental reasons obviously.

I don't know why but #35 makes me really sad everytime I listen to it. It's a really simple ode to Roi that really hits me hard

Pretty much this. Maybe it was the last thing he recorded.

Either way, one listen was enough. Not because I hate it or anything, I'd just prefer to always remember it as that last track I heard once on my first listen of BWGK.

Its really been growing on me. Its gotten to the point where I dont mind sitting in my car in silence for 20 seconds before it eventually comes on. Its a nice little ending, and I like how the drums sort of cut out as Roi plays the last note. His sax really is the first and last instrument you hear on the album.

In one of the documentaries, they are sitting around in the studio, and carter asks them to pull something up that roi had recorded, and carter gets a smile on his face and says "there it is!" and then starts singing along. That may or may not be one of the tunes on the album, i forget right now, but, i do recall thinking that would have been a much cooler thing to have at the end than #35. Whatever that thing was, was groovy and tasteful and extremely "Roi".
