Just picked up 4 pack cans of the new fat heads...hop stalker. Wet hop IPA. I'll report back as soon as kids are in bed!

Speaking of Fat Heads, their new Portland brewpub is opening up next month. Can't wait to try some of their stuff!

Ugh, already planning/dreading Bourbon County release time. Its the one release where I will essentially truck chase and hoard, but id love for a ticketed KBS style thing where I could just be guaranteed an allocation.

You will probably like it more than me...hops are more in the back end whereas I prefer hops upfront. I think we've had a similar discussion before.

It's the Hop JuJu of harvest/wet hop IPAs. I think that's a fair valuation.

Just got back from a quick work trip to Portland - love that city and the beer culture there. No matter where you go a great craft beer is within arm's reach.

We only had time to hit up one brewery/brewpub this time - Hopworks Urban Brewery - and it was great. Had a fresh hopped lager, IPA, and DIPA - all were fantastic.

Only had a carry on this trip so wasn't planning on bringing home any beer, however I forgot there is a "Made in Oregon" store in the airport post security that has a decent little beer selection. Lots of offerings from Cascade and Logsdon (I can get both of those back home) so I picked up another offering from Hopworks that was absolutely incredible - Abominable Winter Ale (basically a malty IPA).

    http://i.imgur.com/bB2Xg21.jpg

After all of that I sat down at the Laurelwood Brewpub in the airport and had a couple pints as I waited for my flight. Resisted the urge to buy a growler to bring on the plane. Love Portland.

Founders Dark Penance is the beer that may have gotten me to like black IPAs/ales.

You were mean to Wookey Jack!?

    Wookey Jack is tremendous.

My favorite of the style. Just ahead of Sublimely Self Righteous and Mountain Standard.

That being said, I'm just buying a case of BCBS this year. It's the only one that's easy to find, and it means I will have plenty to cellar/drink or trade.

Just picked up a 24 case of Firestone Walker from Costco for $26. What a steal - everything was bottled on 9/30.

    6 Union Jacks
    6 Pale 31s
    6 DBAs
    6 Pivo Pils

Can't go wrong. I love FW - no bullshit, just great beer.
