No thanks. LL on the album pretty much ensures they'll be back on the road with DMB next summer, which I really don't want. It was no fun to know almost exactly what would finish a show when they were there.

Depends what they're doing.

I don't think they're bad on Stay, so if it's like that, sure.

If they're gratuitously thrown on something where they really don't fit — like a children's choir making a sudden appearance for no good reason — then I'd rather not.

edit: Don't hate Tim or Rashawn by any means, and they are great musicians, but I prefer DMB w/ Butch and it's not too close
as for LL, somewhat indifferent as long as it's 1 or 2 songs

Depends on the song really. They fit on Stay perfectly. If they were to record The Idea of You and put them on that I would not be happy at all. They absolutely RUINED that song this year. A song here and there makes sense that they're on, but that is absolutely not one of them. I can't listen to a single version of that song with them on it as their presence is incredibly embarrassing. "Get outta here!" Good grief it's SO bad.

My thoughts exactly. If there was no chance they came on the road, I wouldn't mind if they were on a song or two. But that's not going to happen.

Yeah I hope the band feels the same way. I personally believe Stay would be a better studio track without them. If any guests are going to be on new album Id prefer Vusi or Warren

I'm not for it, but if it happens, it happens. Maybe they won't suck up whatever they touch so much it makes the entire album unlistenable. Besides, it's not like they're going to make a BTCS pt. 2 anyway. We'll be lucky to get something on par with AFTW.

Butch... easy. Give anything for DMB to return to the jazzy grooves I fell in love with. The syncopated subtleties are long forgotten in recent years.

The Lovely Ladies were a terrific addition for a record and once every few years on tour for a few songs, but too much of them takes away from DMB and the gravity of their songs...

Exactly this. The sounds of today are far too in-your-face, I'd go with even obnoxious. Noise for the sake of noise. At least they have been guilty of that the last few years.

In my utopia, it's the original 5 with Butch. The Lovely Ladies can come along and watch gigs and listen to the new album if they want though.
