Of course after what the band broke out at SPAC and Starlake we get this as a release. I seriously don't think they have any concept for what the fans actually want.

as of now, yes. But they were supposed to do one for D+T in 2003, and it never happened. But as of now, yes, it's happening.

    LITHOG
    Dive In
    You & Me
    Alligator Pie
    Rye Whiskey
    Time Bomb

all of which (minus I'll Be There) will be played at EVERY OTHER 2 night stand. there is absolutely no reason for these shows to be released instead of any of the 2 night stands from the 2nd half of the tour.

this release is not going to make their European fanbase multiply. it will sell well to those who were actually at the show, but for those who weren't, whats the difference if the songs were played in England or Florida?? its the same songs and they weren't there for these exact performances anyway. there is no reason for this release.

Sure, for a live show, but why do they continually release mediocre shows instead of their best (i.e. Mile High instead of SPAC N2 2008)?

See, that which you just wrote makes no sense.

You cannot possibly say that a hypothetical show that hasn't happened is better than the Brixton shows.

Why do people not understand that a DVD release must be planned in ADVANCE of the show happening. They just cant go and release SPAC on DVD because in retrospect they were great shows. THEY WERENT FILMED.

Management decided they were going to film London. Does this mean that DMB tailored their shows to a dvd release? NO. they played a standard two night stand and unfortunately it wasnt as epic as SPAC. I just cant stand when people say "oh they should release a better show than this on dvd". They cant go back in time and place 25 cameras at a great show.

Because people will buy them, and still hold on the the illusion that a GREAT show will be released soon.

Believe me they're well aware that SPAC N2 is in demand. It's just the game they play.

also...the set is somewhat catered generically...so a common person can be like...'woah ants marching AND funny AND everday AND gravedigger! I think i might pick this up! sad but true

still...i think this is awesome...AND a blu-ray release is EVEN BETTER! This could also hopefully kick in gear them remastering LS, CP, Folsom and Piedmont for BD release too!

I agree another shitty release, but I'll still burn a copy from a friend to add to the collection, while still waiting for the ALPINE DVD and SPAC DVD.
Why hasn't the band made a DVD with ALPINE, thats a gold mine.

You cannot possibly say that a hypothetical show that hasn't happened is better than the Brixton shows.

EVERYBODY knew that SPAC N2 was going to be a great show, and guess what, IT WAS!! and everyone knows that Alpine and Jones Beach are going to be great too, and Camden is going to be amazing. even a disappointing Camden will be better than Brixton.

so yes, i can say that a show that hasn't happened yet will be better, because they're going to be. Brixton was a very underwhelming set of shows. they're not that hard to beat. I'd be willing to bet that we'll see a handful of SINGLE night shows that end up being better than these two.

Management decided they were going to film London. Does this mean that DMB tailored their shows to a dvd release? NO. they played a standard two night stand and unfortunately it wasnt as epic as SPAC. I just cant stand when people say "oh they should release a better show than this on dvd". They cant go back in time and place 25 cameras at a great show.
no, they can't go back in time, but do you really think they didn't know that SPAC wasn't going to be an amazing weekend?? they filmed 2 shows in England that more than likely were going to be very casual with nothing special happening.

SPAC, Alpine, Deer Creek, Jones Beach, Camden, they're all expected to be great shows because when they play those types of venues, they usually ARE great shows. why wouldn't they plan a release around THOSE shows when more than likely they'll blow Brixton out of the water, and even if they were disappointing, they'd still more than likely be better than Brixton.

and it still boggles my mind why they would release a DVD of 2 shows they didn't even use their lighting rig for. they spend all this money every year on amazing lights and then film 2 shows that don't use it? makes absolutely no sense.
