Re: Philadelphia Eagles

They couldn't go outside the box two times in a row. If that didn't work either we'd give them even more hell 3 years from now.

And how the hell did I go peRderson not once but twice in my first post??? Geezus.....

Yea, was talking to our Eagles beat writer the other day and when I asked him why didn't wait to interview McDermott he went, "I honestly have no idea." I'm disappointed they didn't give him an interview or any consideration.

True. Outside the box was probably poor phrasing. Just meant as extreme as the Chip hire was last time. They weren't going to go there. We settled. Absolutely. Should have talked to everyone imaginable after playoffs were over or on back channels.

But I still contend we don't know how ANY of the coaches hired or thought of will actually do.

This team needs to get back to being a defensive juggernaut. I was hoping for Lovie or McDermott with Shurmur staying on as offensive coordinator

I've never seen a highly paid athlete throw a bigger fit the Bradford is doing.

What has he ever done in his career to warrant him thinking the way he is. They gave you 22 million bro and your afraid to go out and compete to be the starter, which you were already named?

His behavior is shocking and reflects so poorly on him.

Agreed to all of that. Was saying the same to my dad when we talked about it yesterday.

I really like how Wentz handles himself in interviews and off the field. He sounds confident and comfortable and shows personality. I like those traits in any athlete. I really hope he's the answer when it's time for him to step up.

he could have handled it a lot better.

First, it doesn't make sense to me that every time a QB hits FA he has to be paid top 5 $ no matter how good he is.

Second, he was named started, publicly, multiple times.

Third, this was a "prove it" contract, either for the Eagles or for another team. If Bradford did great this year, the Eagles would extend him or trade him. So the Wentz deal literally changes nothing.

Always good to have a QB who doesn't feel enough confidence in himself to compete with a rookie for a starting job. God forbid Bradford has to actually do something for a single dollar he's made in the NFL.

Agreed. I wanted to root for this guy and his little redemption story from two blown out knees. I wanted to defend him as a player last year. Now I don't. Honestly, screw him. He's insane to think he has leverage and he's a baby that thinks he's entitled to something when he hasn't earned shit yet.

no talk about the game the other night?

thought Daniel looked lost out there

Wentz looked very good imo. Love he way he moves around the pocket, made a lot of good reads (esp on the busted play blitz where he threw to ertz a bit high and it was dropped. great read of the situation, made the right throw)....throws were a bit high, he needs to work on that

also, can we get some stickum in Philly?

I commented a bit in the NFL Thread. He showed some things I liked, including how he handled a bad snap and his ability to be mobile. He did show he needed to adjust to the speed of his WRs a few times.

Wentz has a hairline fracture in his rib. Bummer. Preseason is valuable reps for a rookie whether they're playing in the regular season or not.

    What's up fellow Eagles fans!!?

I have a Yahoo! fantasy football league set up with 6 out of 12 owners so far. We're not drafting until this coming Tuesday night at 11:15pm Eastern. It's $50 buy-in and 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and most points at the end of the regular season get paid.
No Kickers or Defense and a few added flex positions as replacements. Should be different and fun!

Follow the below link if you're interested! Thanks!
    https://yho.com/nfl?l=914725&k=1159b...97b54e21b1a31e

Yahoo handles cash leagues now for free which means no fees and 100% payout and no having to deal with Leaguesafe (if anyone has heard of that before). If you decide to cancel or the league doesn't pan out and gets cancelled for some reason, yahoo gives you a full refund... (wow...lol...that sounded like an ad... this is not an ad for yahoo, just letting people know that neither yahoo nor I, the commissioner, profit from this in any way... to set people's minds at ease)

This IS a bummer! We also want him healthy... JUST IN CASE there happen to be multiple QB injuries!
