I know the setlist jives with the pyro and flash, but they need to revamp the setlist some and play more hits for these shows.

Hoping for Gillette that I get to hear this set in order:

    1) Lost
    2) Strawberry Swing
    3) Speed of Sound
    4) Hymn for the Weekend
    5) Lovers in Japan
    6) Adventure of a Lifetime
    7) The Scientist
    8) Fix You
    9) Yellow
    10) In My Place
    11) Hurts Like Heaven
    12) Army of One
    13) Life in Technicolor
    14) Clocks
    15) A Sky Full of Stars

    Encore:

    16) Us Against the World
    17) Paradise
    18) Viva la Vida

    2nd Encore:

    19) 42
    20) Warning Sign
    21) A Head Full of Dreams

my biggest beef w coldplay is the lack of variety in their setlists. as soon as i realized that nothing was going to change and just enjoy the show, the better. theyre not a band, like phish and dmb, to see multiple times a tour - its the same show. just one night to have blast.

Funny. Was coming here to post about Ghost Stories. Did not like it when it first came out. Having a love affair with it lately. This is an absolutely beautiful album.

I really don't think Coldplay has put out a bad album.

I know it's not the majority opinion, but everything they've released has grown on me over time. I also love their willingness to try new sounds.

They are coming out with an EP in June. Released a single today called Hynoptised, which I quite enjoy.

What does this EP do to our thoughts on the rumors that they're calling it quits soon (AHFOD their last album)? Is that still a thing?

I never really thought that was true, as that rumor has been floating out there for a few albums now.

Thinking about finally catching one of their shows this year. Torn between an arena (Portland) or a stadium (Seattle). Acoustics aren't significantly better at one than the other. Your thoughts?

Haven't seen Coldplay live since the X&Y Tour when they came through Raleigh in 05. Might wait until they have their 20th anniversary tours for Parachutes/AROBTTH and hope we get tunes like Shiver, Trouble, Politik, and everything's not lost, back in the setlists.

I loved Cowboys Stadium. Huge show but you still felt like part of it. Amazing how many people go see these guys. Interested in the EP coming out next month.

I've only ever seen Coldplay once and it was last year at Lincoln Financial Field (Eagles stadium) and I must say they put on a spectacle. I would think an indoor show would be scaled down a bit so I would pick outdoor.

I mean just look at this: https://youtu.be/sN7wHzSrcFg?t=295

I really dug that a lot. Thanks for sharing. It sounded like something that could be on X&Y, which was always a favorite of mine. Didn't realize they had new stuff coming out.

I started losing interest in these guys after Viva La Vida. I absolutely love the first 3 records but it's been a steady decline for me since then. To be fair, I don't think I ever listened to Ghost Stories. I spun AHFOD twice when it came out and absolutely hated it.

Last saw them live in '05 at Alpine Valley, and that was a fantastic show.

Likewise. I'm going to the show because they seem like the type of band that would put on a really good experience, and judging from the sets I've seen it's a decent mix of their catalog. I absolutely loved Viva la Vida, but like you, I fell off after that. I liked a couple tunes off the Mylo Xylo album, but that's where they started to lose me. After a couple listens Ghost Stories actually really is a good album. The new stuff is just not catching me at all. whatever the single was with them as CGI monkeys in the video was absolutely atrocious.

This A L I E N S song... started out so well with the cool guitar work and groove.

    Then the vocals started....

I dug Viva La Vida too, not quite as much as the first 3 but I do enjoy it. I probably should give Ghost Stories a shot as it seems like that's the one of the newer releases that gets the most praise from older fans.

VLV is an incredibly cohesive record, IMO, which makes it great. It's not the best album or anything, but I enjoy the journey. Wish they used the Life In Technicolor II for the album, though.

I think then they went for big pop singles on Mylo. It's not a horrible record but it's not what they should have done. What they should have done was...

Ghost Stories. Again, not the greatest album by any means, but sonically, it's more akin to Parachutes/Rush and I've grown to really enjoy their sort of minimalism.

HFOD went back to big pop singles, but still has a couple good songs. There was also some good single/EP stuff from all those. Which I enjoy because it keeps me from totally losing faith when I hear some crappy songs

ABFOD was a good album. I've liked pretty much everything on the EP up until ALIENS as well.

Like every track on Ghost Stories except Ink. I like Aliens, Coldplay are really good at making atmospheric tracks, even if some of the lyrics are kinda subpar.
