Yeah, I read it. It was interesting, but by the end I was feeling annoyed with Dave Eggers. Don't ask me why. I think he comes across as kind of arrogant.

I just finished reading Dry, by Augusten Burroughs. Amazing book. It made me cry, laugh, and cringe every now and then. I'm not overly sensitive, either. This is the first book in a while that I've actually expressed emotion over.

If you're not familiar with Augusten Burroughs, I suggest reading the prequel to this memoir: Running With Scissors. Note: This will be the weirdest, most twisted book you have ever read in your life.

I agree... I actually listened to the unabridged book on CD - read by the author - driving to & from work. Wow. That was crazy. Amazingly entertaining, slightly painful, very odd... but compelling and good. Glad someone else read it; I'd forgotten about that one

(Also a good read - Pattern Recognition by William Gibson (of Necromancer fame)... kind of similar to the Dan Brown books)

Half way through Heartbreaking Work of a Stagering Genius... I enjoy it but I know a lot of people who've said that they just couldn't get into it.

    Also David Sedaris is hilarious...

I figure I'd top this ish.

I'm reading a book called, "The lies my teacher told me."
And it's phenomenal, very well researched.
It's about the textbooks used in today's American history classes and how most of them are full of shit. I'm a big history dork, so I found this fascinating. Anyone that has studied history in any sort of depth will tell you that some of the stuff they learned in high school was crap. This book is phenomenal and I highly recommend it.

ahh, the joys of revisionist history. Or, as I like to call it 'fiction'.

I haven't started to read it yet, but The Rum Diary by Hunter S. Thompson is sitting on my desk right now. I've been putting off reading it for the longest time, but I'm gonna start any day now.
