At Berkeley I was happily surprised and we had great people around us all weekend. Both the vets and the newcomers were knowledgeble, friendly, and really fun. Great crowd. I think the all GA had something to do with it. If you were sitting anywhere but the lawn you had arrived at the venue before the gates opened. All the casual stragglers had to hike to the lawn. Made for a really great time around really great people.

Gorge N3: I was in the row right behind the pit. A guy in the last row of the pit said at one point, "Who is their drummer? He's really good!" Maybe he was at his first DMB concert ever, but I just thought it was funny. Also, I thought it was cool because one of the Live Nation security guys in the pit (who was facing the crowd the entire time and not the band) sang along to every song. It was a good gig for him (except for the having to stand backward part!).

This is passed on from two guys I was talking to at the Gorge. Both had attended the Bend show, separately, and both were in agreement that the unruly drunkeness factor in the pit was extraordinarily high. There were at least two fights, one between a couple dudes (common), the other between a couple chicks (not so common).

The consensus was that it was tied to the wine being consumed. The venue is tied to a winery somehow, and people had whole bottles of wine they were chugging.

Give me the chill stoner any day vs. the sloppy wine drunk.

Gorge N3 - I was sitting next to this guy who was by himself and we started bullshitting during the acoustic set a little. Towards the end of the set he asks me if he could use my ticket stub because he had to piss. I didn't have a problem with it, but just happened to ask him where his was? (if he lost it or something I would've just given him mine, dude seemed chill) He tells me he doesn't have one. I ask him how he got in, and he said he sneaks in every year, and has been doing it for YEARS. He then told me he usually chills on the lawn, but since N3 seating area isn't as full he sneaks down and goes in section 202 or 201 since it's not packed and he never had any problems.

He then gets up and walks away and I never seen him again.

Nothing too good from the greek that I can remember, guy screaming for Angel n1.

N2 we were 2nd to last row and the whole section, myself included was sitting. Really only sitting because the seats were so steep you could see everything perfectly sitting down. But anyway, I am singing along and having a great time enjoying the show but half way through Granny this woman behind me and a few seats down taps me on the should and screams in to my ear "GET THE FUCK UP!!!!" it was pretty funny, and really odd.

I feel this way about people sitting, people on their phones, people getting high, people talking with their friends, etc. Live and let live. They paid the same amount as me, if they aren't ruining my time who am I to judge
