YOUR Top 5 DMB Venues going forward....2015 and beyond

This isn't Venue Wars part 34........

Was just thinking on the go forward......

Do you have a Top 5 Venues you'd see DMB, or try to get to, above others? Take into consideration where you live, $$$ cost/time to get there, haven't been, close to home, etc, etc.

Think I'm down to 5 venues that I'd "reach deep" to get to.

Assume all are at least 2 night stand.
Try to keep the venue as a "reasonable" venue, not "my local bar, it holds 400 people

Mine

1. Red Rocks. Never been for any show
2. MSG. NYC......it's just a special memory music/sports place for me. And it's NYC!!!!
3. Hollywood Bowl. Miss this place since it went to GA PIT. Have seen a couple bands there past few years
4. Santa Barbara Bowl. Okay this is a reach for DMB. Dave & Tim
5. Anywhere in Vegas. DMB or DT

I'm leaving out Charlottesville and Gorge. Hmph

Honestly Gorge was the big one on my bucket list and I've now completed that. I'd love to get up to SPAC one year but that seems unlikely right now. At this point I'm ready to cut back to just Bristow in the summer and then any shows at JPJ I'll do

If they bring back Alpine or Red Rocks. I'm there.

If not ..I'm doing the Gorge for first time.

Also hometown area shows GA, ALA, SC. Will pass on FL this time round...maybe.

I really hope they bring back reverb for next year. It's what's enabled me to do all this. If they are gone my tour gets cut a lot. If Alpine or RRs are on, those are a guarantee.

I've seen DMB at pretty much every big venue of theirs besides red rocks. My favorites are by far the gorge and SPAC. Alpine was really good too, but the crowds are usually better at SPAC. The gorge is always gonna be my number 1 favorite though. Location, fact that it's 3 nights, and I also love Seattle, so the whole trip as a whole is something to look forward to every year I can do it. I haven't experienced any dmb weekend like the gorge yet.

Only one I haven't done is MSG.

Going forward, though, who knows? Alpine's future seems murky and who knows if they ever play Red Rocks again.

If you're looking for quality shows, Camden and Deer Creek have to be considered. They're long-time stops that usually get decent shows.

Greek Theatre in Berkeley is a favorite venue of mine, but an infrequent stop (95, 08, 14).

I understand venues/cities are murky going forward. My list is all a "maybe 4 of those 5 get something" in next 5 years......

Wasn't necessarily asking for next year, or 16', more of a "if it comes up, I'm there"

Guess I was just thinking any venue DMB has been to at past 10 years, and might return in next 5.....

Gorge is not that much better than Redrocks. Been to both, they are about tied.

    The Gorge- Because it's amazing
MSG- Best arena to see DMB: Haven't done it yet
John Paul Jones (Cville)- The Mecca: Haven't done it yet
Deer Creek- Best Stop for me if Alpine is no more (Better than Chicago venues)
    The Greek- Amazing small venue

Alpine and Red Rocks would be top of the list if the band ever played either again.

Taking into account the likelihood that the band will actually play the venue (so no RR or MSG) and the likelihood that I will travel to a place given the current state of DMB shows (read: it's going to need a nDMB draw to get me there, or be real close to me), these are the top 5 places that I see myself hitting in the near future (in order of likelihood):

    1. Woodlands
    2. Dallas
    3. WPB
    4. Shoreline
    5. Gorge

Re: YOUR Top 5 DMB Venues going forward....2015 and beyond

i just moved to the denver area so my list is a little different than what it used to be.

Red Rocks - if they ever come here, i'm doing anything and everything to make it to at least one night in my new backyard
Scranton - its home, and now that it is 1,700 miles away, its a new destination venue for me. i've never missed a show there and i don't plan on breaking that streak any time soon.
The Gorge - might be a little more feasible now that i'm closer to the west coast. #1 on the realistic trip list for venues i haven't been to yet.
Camden - like Scranton, its a bit of a home venue. haven't missed a show since i started going there in 2007, and it has become the epicenter for the group of people i go to shows with.
Alpine - if they ever go back, its something that needs to be experienced at least once.

i've been to MSG, SPAC, and Cville before, and if i never make it back to any of them, i'm ok with that.

I will go to all of the following if they occur:

    -Deer Creek
-Whatever the Chicago area show is
    -Alpine (If it still exist)
-Gorge (Had a blast this year which was my first time there)
-Red Rocks (If they ever play there again)

    Possibly:
-Hollywood Bowl (if they even play there)
    -SPAC

I think it's really hard for people to say 4-5 months before the tour schedule is even announced. It's really speculation as to what the tour will be like next year. I really doubt they do the two sets next year though... even though I actually enjoyed it regardless of what was played.

Venues I'd still like to get to one day:

    MSG
    Gorge
    Hartford

My Top 5 venues I've seen them play

    SPAC
    Alpine
    Hollywood Bowl
    Deer Creek
Charlottesville (not so much JPJ, but for the whole experience when you go there)

    Alpine & Red Rocks

My traveling days are over. Since Chicago is not that great, maybe Deer Creek.
