From a reporters blog in Minny:
Anyway, they (Twins fans in the Bronx) were impressed with how friendly the Yankees fans were - sounds like a few rounds were sent their way. “The Yankees fans treated us much nicer than the Red Sox fans,” the leader told me. “Red Sox fans are mean.” Just thought I get that out there.

Im sure there are a few humble, gracious Sox fans out there, but the over-riding impression given by Boston fans on barstoolsports, Ants, other general media, is of this newfangled arrogance and elitism. And its funny, because Boston fans suffered for so long, were beat down and disappointed by their teams for so long, that, once sports prosperity came they lashed out at their former tormentors (mostly in NY). And the new "We're #1" attitude (which is completely natural and acceptable) they got to enjoy built on itself and spun out of control until Boston fans, mostly because of the Patriots and spygate, embraced and embodied this villainous, bully mentality; the exact mindset they perceived and loathed about the Yankees, in particular, and NY fans in general (which was always overblown by the myriad insecurities of Boston fans). Kinda pathetic if you think about it, that Boston fans have become what they always despised. But, what can you expect after all the insecurities that would naturally build up after ALL those maddening near misses?
Anyway, I was thinking about this, and I started wondering: is there a team or a region that can win with class, or does reaching that goal you'd always striven for just turn you into an arrogant ass every time?
