    Troegs Nugget Nectar
    Vermont Shed IPA
    Laguinitas Sucks
    Any Stone special edition

Not as big into Founders (KBS), or the whiskey or bourbon barrelled stouts. I prefer hops. But, I heard that my pallet will prefer bitters at some point.

Their next barrel release sounds awesome: imperial porter aged in rum barrels with coconut added...according to their barrel master it will release next month, FYI.

I am going to try and go, their releases are a good time. If you can make it let me know.

As for Parabola, it's here according to rumor, though I haven't been able to confirm its on the shelves. I took today off so I hit up a few likely spots and all said they hope to get it this week. I know Lukas got 8 gases last year and were slotted 2 this year, it's goin to fly off the shelves....if I see it ill let you know.

Lukas will release Big John Saturday most likely.

I love it when breweries have homebrew roots. Ballast Point and The Bruery come to mind. In fact Patrick Rue used to be a member of my homebrew club before he went bigtime. A couple of his shift brewers are still members and come to the meetings and of course think they are homebrewing gods, haha
Yeah the Head Of Brewing Operations at AleSmith is the President of my club. He is a cool guy too, most of the AleSmith guys are members of the club too. There are about 14 or 15 breweries that have started from my club. So we have a solid group of pros and pro-armatures.

I very much prefer Greg to Jim.

I don't think Jim cares about learning from beers nearly to the extent he describes. I think he's pushing his brand. He literally thinks Boston Lager is the best beer in the world. To each his own I guess.

    I dont believe i have.

My uncle is huge into Founders. He has had me try dozens of different types (he is big into bourbon and whiskey barreled stouts).

    I will check it out.

He has me on the hunt for Parabola. Its always something...Bolt Cutter, KBS, Parabola etc...haha.

    Thanks for the tip.

we did a barleywine tasting a couple months back and Bolt Cutter was clearly the worst of the bunch. i still have one left, but just for the sake of completion of the set of Backstage Series beers from Founders.

Founders is a great brewery. Centennial IPA and Reds Rye are two of my favorites from them. I may even prefer Centennial IPA over Bells Two Hearted. But I'm in that stage of beer geekdom where freshness is critical with IPA's. if it's more than a couple months old I pass.....i'm not healthy.

I was absolutely shocked how easy KBS was to get in my area. I went to the brewery (5 hours away) and got 16 bottles....came home and found 26 locally. in-fucking-sane.

When I was at founders Monday. The bartender told me that they only had 250 tickets per day for kbs.

So that means they only sold 500 cases at the brewery. I had figured it was around 1000. Crazy.

    WAHOOOOO!!! Just scored some KBS!

    https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...44778791_n.jpg

Saw the Facebook post from the beer store 6 minutes after it was posted. Drove as fast as I could... got there in under 13 minutes. As I was pulling in I saw 3 guys going in - I knew what they were after. As they were standing there discussing whether or not to buy the whole lot (10 4-packs)... One dude said "Really, you want to spend $250 on beer???" "ABSOLUTELY!" Said the other 2... I swooped in and snagged one thinking "Make that $225!". Wish I'd had said it out loud, but I was so excited I could barely speak.

So, anyway, in 20 minutes - the KBS was gone at Barb's Beer Emporium.

I went to Mondo Vino 24 minutes after they posted they got it on Facebook over lunch. They had 2 left and would only sell me 1. Went to Argonaut, Parker Payless, Cornerstar, Libations, Lukas, Colorado Liquor, Heritage, Incredible, and Joy before scoring a single bottle. Unreal. Good luck!

Got so screwed on parabola. Leave town for two days and it drops and disappears in hours.

    Next year.

Sorry man. I thought the same thing would happen to me, that it would be released while I was out of town. Sounds like it was released here either yesterday or today and is flying. Last year it was easy to score as many bottles as I wanted

Anyone had Bear Republic's Black Racer? I remember you talking about it Dave. It was just released here so I picked one up. Also got a DFH 61 as it was like $2.50 or something. What's with all these brewers playing with grape must all of a sudden?

Ya. I know there is a growler of double citra in there, that sounds like it might be my perfect beer. Hoping it live up to the reviews. The rest are surprises.

Yeah Lukas will release their 2 cases Saturday at 2pm is my guess. We'll find out when they update their weekly blog, likely tomorrow afternoon. As per the usual the guys at Argonaut weren't helpful in the least bit. I have no clue if they got it and sold out, haven't gotten it, aren't getting it, etc. They just updated their blog and it's not on there.

I am assuming you have links to those blogs?

San Diego CA, the Capital of Hops. So, you know go figure. That said. IPA #1 seller so far. but the 4.0% Session Extra Pale Ale is #2... though it is quite hoppy for a light beer.

Anyone pick up the Dark Horse Crooked Tree Ipa variation sampler box? Citra, Cascade, FF, and standard CT bottles. Should be interesting.
