Really excited for this, it's great to have them back. Saw them last summer in Chicago from the 5th row and they were fantastic.

Grunge in 2012 can be great as long as the singer's voice isn't shot and the music isn't compressed. Doubt SG can recapture it.

IMO Soundgarden's music is timeless. They were one of the pioneering bands of that scene. Great music sounds good no matter what decade it's in. If they're written a batch of good songs, it'll be a good album.

If we were talking about Bush or Sponge or some other retread band that came through in the mid-90's I'd be more skeptical.

Written during Badmotorfinger but never finished, I think.

I think the new clip sounds good and I like the Avengers song so I'm definitely looking forward to this one but will only be buying it on vinyl because I'm sure the CD will be ruined like 90% of CD releases from major labels over the last 15 years. I like most Soundgarden, always enjoyed Cornell's voice and Cameron's drumming back in 1991 when I first heard "Searching With My Good Eye Closed" was the first thing that made me fall in love with this band. He's amazing.

I will easily pay to see them again on tour. Stoked!

New single, Been Away Too Long

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0A71tITqe0

I'm really torn on this. I feel like I'm stuck in the mud for wanting them to be grungier.

I definitely want a Soundgarden song that boasts "I've been away for too long" to be grunge as fuck.

^ I think you're thinking about a different Seattle band.

I've heard rumors that they're talking about a joint tour which would make some sense since Matt is the drummer for both.

Matt could do drums for both or have a "special guest" type of thing on some PJ songs, like Jack Irons filling in for some to give Matt a rest.

Disagree, I loved that album, one of my favorites from that year. Vintage AIC, IMO.

Being a huge AIC fan, I was pleasantly surprised with how that album turned out. Looking forward to what they do next.

Yep, I really enjoyed the songs on the last AiC record too, the title track was beautiful. I think Acid Bubble was the only song I didn't like, although it's typical AiC in that it has some "oh you're not supposed to do this musically here, well we'll do it".

Yeah, AIC one of my favs too. Considering that rock today is prob at its lowest point since hairbands, BGWTB was a great album. For some reason Jerry always throws in a couple "skip" songs, but thats the way it works. The rest is pretty awesome
