    Can't wait.

"Summer Tour Dates are posted! “A Very Special Evening with Dave Matthews Band” will feature the group delivering two sets at each show. The band will perform together in numerous electric and acoustic configurations featuring the entire band in a reinvention of the traditional DMB summer evening."

So posted in the other thread but I'm sure it'll get buried. Do you think we'll have openers or is this two set thing mean we are starting earlier with no opener?

I'm the only talking here. lol But my wife actually might come with me to this show. She went with me to Toronto in December 2012 but that was part of a weekend away for her bday as well. Other than that, she hasn't been to a show since 2006 I think. This acoustic/electric setup even has her interested.

I'm pretty stoked about this new arrangement.. Hopefully all the crazy people stay in the lawn so we can thoroughly enjoy the acoustic stuff in the pavilion!!! I've been to every show at pine knob since 06 (which was my fave knob show, 08 being close behind).. What's been your guy's fav PK show, since they revisited the venue in 06?

So excited. I love the concept this year. It'll be interesting to see how it works out. I'm glad they changed things up a bit - it was time.

2006 was special cause it was good and the first show there since 97. The last two years were good. Spoon, Halloween, Little Thing to name a few. 2008 was cool for me cause it was my first show sitting close. So basically 06 is #1 with a bunch tied for 2nd.

Hopefully I can be close this year . Last year I was in the pit, and I don't think I'll be able to adjust to sitting far back again.

We'll be there from Chicago, looking forward to it. Hadn't posted yet, been busy in the NOLA thread.

Is anyone traveling out to Chicago for the NI shows?

I understand. Went from like 7th or 8th row in 2012 to crap seats way back at the ACC for the winter tour in Toronto and it was like...ugh.

I had pretty bad seats at both those shows. I'm not complaining though, at least I got to see my favorite band.

Yeah. I had fun in TO. Hearing so much of the new stuff live for the first time and it was my wife's birthday weekend so made for a fun trip.

Hey! Who are you calling crazy?!

Seriously, though, as a consistent Warehouse lawn guy for the DTE show, I am worried about how the acoustic set will go over. This is especially why I'm hoping the acoustic set replaces the traditional opener, that way there will be fewer people and shenanigans on the lawn, at the time of the performance.

My favorite show is probably 2010. JTR opener, Big Eyed Fish->Bartender, mid set Stay and Billies, first WWYS in a long time, Everyday->Ants, and a non-set listed Busted Stuff. So much fun.

2009 was great as well. Lots of good jams that night.

2012 was very weak, save the encore.

Last year was pretty rough, as well- at least the worst of the three shows I saw last summer. Thankfully they busted out Spoon and one of the best versions of Crush I've seen...

Haha I've been Warehouse lawn every year since last!!! I just enjoyed the pavilion so much this past year that idk if I would do lawn again. The year that there was a semi drought 07 maybe 08, I slipped on the lawn and fell into this cesspool of piss beer and puke I'm sure bc I know it wasn't water ! Still had a blast of course.. I'm thinking the pavilion is going to be much better as far as acoustics and sound for the "acoustic" part of the show but who knows were all still in the blind!! I'm sure we've crossed paths before hahaha!!!

I live on Mackinac Island so I'm traveling 5+ hours once you figure in the boat ride and the drive down to Clarkston... It may be that I'm getting older but I just want to get good seats to justify the trip!! Shit I'm rambling, even if all I get is lawn, I'll still be there haha!!!

Some people didn't like 2010 but I did. Helped I had my best seats that year, 2nd row, but BEF, JTR the Stand Up partial into Recently, Busted Stuff, that Ants was great. 2009 was good but felt they rushed it cause Jimi Thing and Graves were not jammed out. Should have only played one and added in another shorter song.

Yea 2010 was a good year for the knob, kinda slipped my mind.. I went to the Wrigley shows that fall and the knob show was still better IMO!! I would love to hear raven again this summer and an acoustic #40, stretching a bit I know but one can hope !!!

My wife and I are planning to return to Pine Knob this year. I let my Warehouse membership lapse a few years ago, so I hope we can somehow nab pavilion seats when tickets go on sale. I have a feeling they'll be better than lawn with two sets happening.

Especially if the acoustic set is what I think we're all thinking, more like Dave and Tim.

The DTE show is always one of my favorites. Only downfalls are how long it takes to get the bathroom from the lower pavilion, and they won't let you setup pop up tents in the parking lot. The rain last year (before the show) sucked but the rainbow that followed was awesome.

Do you mean a canopy top get out of the sun or a tent to sleep in?? We had a canopy up through the rain.

pop up canopy like you have for tailgating - to keep out of the sun. They don't let you set them up on the pavement (by your car), just in the grass, which fills up fast. We did have one up in the grass last year but my husband and his brother were worried it would blow away when the storm rolled in so they quick took it down and we sat in our car through the rain. That rain sucked.
