Re: Da Bulls

Alright Bulls!
Hanging on to beat the Mavs tonight is a real nice win.

And btw they apparently signed Lindsey Hunter today.

Rose was in his room last night laying in bed peeling an apple with a knife. He wound up falling asleep. During the course of the night, he rolled over onto the knife and cut his arm.

It required 10 stitches, and may miss time because of this. He's not practicing today.

Well Rose spoke to the media and he clarified the inital report. He's saying he didn't fall asleep. He got up to get a water bottle, and came back and layed on it.

    Youch!
I imagine doing that, coming back laying on the knife and shooting up like Kramer after getting burned or something like "Yaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!"

Rose wins rookie of month award again

CLEVELAND -- Derrick Rose is 2 for 2.

Rose won his second straight Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month award Friday. Perhaps more telling, O.J. Mayo didn't win his second straight Western Conference Rookie of the Month award.

Mayo, considered by many league observers to be Rose's main competition for Rookie of the Year, was beat out by Oklahoma City's Russell Westbrook.

As for Rose, he ranked second among rookies in scoring for December at 16.3 points per game, first in assists at 6.2 and second in minutes at 37.3. He led the Bulls in assists in 12 of 15 December games and scored in double figures in 14.

Rose also became the fifth rookie in Bulls history to tally at least 20 points and 13 assists in the same game, which he accomplished Dec. 29 at New Jersey. Michael Jordan, Reggie Theus, Kirk Hinrich and Jay Williams are the other four.

    Game notes
Rose has opened more than a few eyes around the league after being taken with the No. 1 draft pick, including James'. "I've watched him a lot," James said. "He's a very good talent. They definitely made the right choice in drafting him. He's going to continue to get better. He's a special player." ... The Bulls will honor longtime broadcaster and former coach Johnny "Red" Kerr for his 35 years with the organization during a ceremony at halftime against Detroit on Feb. 10.

Well the problem with the Bulls, they basically don't have anyone on the team who will be here in 5 years minus Rose. Wallace poisoned the team and made everyone a me guy. The only ones besides Rose with any talent are Thomas, Deng, and Gordon.

Deng for whatever reason hasn't seem to put it together, I like Gordon a lot but he's become kind of selfish the last year or so. He can shoot the ball though, and Thomas may be the most talented guy on the team. Sad thing about Thomas is he could be so great if he actually gave a damn.

We need to get guys who can work with Rose, and get a good team going. Because he's special. Maybe if we continue sucking, we can luck into a high draft pick. Maybe get Blake Griffin if we can strike gold twice.

    Re: Da Bulls

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/lottery2009/mockdraft

Seems it has us getting BJ Mullens with this to say

    Quote:
Mullens has the size and athleticism to be a top pick in the draft, but is he ready for the NBA? While the early returns say no, there's little doubt that Mullens has the physical tools to be a big-time NBA player down the road
    There's a link to a scouting report:

    Notes:
Jan. 2 update: A number of scouts said over the summer that Mullens had a legit shot to be the No. 1 pick in the draft. With the exception of a 19-point, eight-rebound performance against UNC-Asheville, we haven't seen it. He's blessed with great size and athleticism and, at times, you see his potential shine through. But more often than not he's delivering the four-point, 0-rebound performances we saw against Iowa on Wednesday.

Obviously, if he blows up in the second half of the season, he'll soar up the board. But as of now, he looks so far away from being a legit NBA center that he may be forced to return to school for his sophomore year. That's a huge downgrade in his stock over the course of the past six months.

    Positives:
    Legit 7-footer
Elite athlete for a big man
    Strong, NBA body
    Big hands, long arms
    Explosive leaper
    Runs the floor
    Strong finisher at the rim
    Can finish with either hand
Jump-shot range out to 15 feet

    Negatives:
Year older than everyone in draft class
    Raw, basketball IQ limited
    Lacks aggression
    Takes plays and games off
    Trouble focusing
    Lacks defensive discipline
    Needs better effort rebounding

Summary: No one in the draft has more upside than Mullens. NBA scouts dream of athletic big men like Mullens. But at Ohio State, he's struggled to dominate as a freshman. On talent, he's a Top 10 pick, but his production hasn't shown it yet.

If all of the above is true, that be great if we had someone like him fall to us that's a little raw. We've needed a center for a long time, and the White Panther isn't cutting it.

I really don't watch college basketball so I don't know who that is.
But yes the Bulls need a good big man in the worst way.
If Lebron didn't forget himself tonight, he would've remembered to drive to the basket as much as possible tonight instead of taking a bunch of jumpers that weren't working for him.

Gordon confronts Del Negro, shouting expletives

Minutes after Bulls coach Vinny Del Negro told the media to ask his players if they respect him, Ben Gordon was seen by reporters confronting Del Negro and using expletives toward the coach.

"I respect Vinny, everybody respects Vinny," Gordon said, declining to go into detail. "This is not a `respect' issue. It's a non-issue."
Gordon was upset at being fined for breaking a team rule.

Del Negro declined to comment through a team spokesman.

Stay tuned as the story develops.

    Rose may skip skills challenge

Since it debuted in 2003, the skills challenge during NBA All-Star weekend has been a showcase for the league's best guards. Past participants include Dwyane Wade, Jason Kidd, Chris Paul and LeBron James.

The league has extended an invitation to this year's event to Bulls point guard Derrick Rose, but the rookie hasn't decided if he'll accept.

''I still have to think about it,'' Rose said Thursday. ''It'll depend on how busy I am [and] the way I feel. If I don't feel like being in it, I guess I don't have to play in it.''

Rose is a shoo-in for the rookie game on Friday, Feb. 13. Participating in the skills challenge would keep him in Phoenix for an extra day and give him one fewer day of rest.

''It is an honor [to be invited],'' Rose said, ''but I have to see how I feel.''

Fuck the Bulls. What the fuck did that game make me pissed off. They come back from down 7 in the last 30 seconds, and then Hinrich gets a clutch steal with 4 seconds left only to have THABO FUCKING SEFOLOSHA throw the ball away to Dwayne Wade on the inbounds.

Jesus Christ, why was Thabo in the game? I've hated him more and more ever since we drafted him. The guy thinks he can shoot when he's a worthless scrub.

Why the FUCK was Thabo even in the game in crunch time, let alone in bounding the ball?????

They've been playing GREAT the past two weeks.

They need to trade Tyrus and Noah's lazy asses for Amare Stoudamire NOW.

I just can't believe how much of an impact Jordan coming back had on my young psyche.

His comeback was UNREAL!!!!! I'd never been happier in my life.

The only rivaling moments were going into the 8th inning, 6 outs away from the World Series, and getting ready to celebrate with joy. And when Devin Hester returned the opening kick in 2006. Jesus Christ....did that not deliver like MJ did.
