Spinoff: Worst concert youve ever seen?

Whats the worst live musical performance youve ever seen?

For me its probably got to be Wiz Khalifa/Snoop Dogg back in 2011.

    Counting crows and Blake Shelton

CC was a band I had a lot of interest in seeing at one point. It was so bad I don't listen to them as much anymore. I literally lost respect for them while being in attendance. And Blake, well I had free tickets and it was hell. He talked more than performed and seemed trashed on stage. Just re enforces the notion than modern "country" is shit with the exception of 1 or 2 acts.

Ive read alot of stuff that CC can be really hit or miss. I only saw them one time but I thought they were good. Id go again if they had a stop near me.

I absolutely love Counting Crows but Adam Duritz was so drunk at one of the shows I saw that it completely ruined it. The few other times I've seen them they were great though.

    A short list:

    Ratking
    Enslaved
    Everclear
    Super Cat
    Ivan and Alyosha
    Matisyahu

Ratking earns a special prize for being shitty twice within a month. The first time, they were supposed to play in time to a video presentation, but they had some technical difficulties with the program, so the first 10 minutes or so was the crew member messing around on a Mac desktop trying to get it restarted and the program kept crashing .

The second time, just weeks later, was opening for Run the Jewels. Despot came out first and lit the place on fire. He was so good, probably the best opening act I've seen at a hip-hop show. And then Ratking came out and people were actively indifferent because they were so sloppy. Very little applause between songs. It was seriously as bad as the Jeb Bush "please clap" moment for last year's election. I kinda felt sorry for them.

Agree with the Counting Crows comments, they were completely mediocre live and not at all what I was expecting when I saw them in 2003.

DMB can put on a boring show, but at least they almost always play the songs properly.

Hershey 2009 was one of the most boring concerts Ive ever attended. Jason Mraz and his band opening were better than DMB that day.

jj, at Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, TN back in...2009??

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JJ_(Swedish_band)

It's a Swedish guy and girl duo, they had a hit with a song sampling Lil Wayne's Lollipop back then. Anyway, show was in a nice little theater. Girl comes out, noticeably sobbing. Stumbles and cries her way through like 3 or 4 songs. Guy finally comes out, beer bottle in hand, and tries to kiss her, she pulls away. They try to do a couple more songs, but he's obviously trashed. Set over.

But the XX came out after that and blew us all away, so it was fine.

I also saw a How to Dress Well gig at a festival last year that deserves a A+ for effort even if it was a total disaster.

A bad storm came in and messed with the whole day. Their equipment was water damaged and 10 minutes into his/their rescheduled time, he said, "Fuck it, we're just gonna try and do an acoustic set." They played for 20 minutes and made the most of it. I have to imagine it was one of the most unusual HTDW gigs ever because most of what they do requires being some kind of plugged in.

the 4th time I saw 30seconds to Mars (first three times I enjoyed them) They just came back from a long overseas tour and for some reason did a random show here when clearly they should have just had the time off

That's when I fell off.

I can honestly say I've never really been to a bad show for a well known band. The only band I ever saw that I can say was embarrassingly dreadful was some opening band for Cold War Kids in Boston a few years ago. Other than that I've had some pretty good luck. I did leave DMB 6/25/08 a bit disappointed because it felt like a short set, and then we got hit with Sister-Thank You, but the set was still really enjoyable and that Two Step...greatest ever.

True story. First time, my mom wanted to go see them, and she needed someone to go with her. This was like 12 years ago and it was during summer break, so I said ok. They were awful. Then last year, I went to the Food & Wine Festival at Busch Gardens with some friends here in Tampa, and they happened to be performing that day. Also awful. Kinda ruined part of Back to the Future for me.

Seriously that wasn't even close to the worst show I have seen.

I went to a skylar laine and some other country act concert and it was pretty terrible. It was free tho

That's a shame... I thought I had heard they were decent. Never had the chance to see them.

I don't think anything could ruin any part of BTTF for me though.

Huey thinks he's a stand up comedian, so he tells stories and bad jokes between songs. Never shuts the fuck up. They also have little breakdowns in some songs and he'll rant about something stupid, which is a pet peeve of mine in any live setting.

I saw Velvet Revolver a while back, and while they were INSANE, Scott Weiland was the worst. He ranted about rock 'n roll not being what it used to be for probably 10-15 minutes during a breakdown in a song. Even his own fans were screaming at him to STFU by the time it was over.
